recycling is not effective.

I would recycle if they came to my house each week like the town sanitation department does, but I am not in a city, so recycling pick up does not happen hear..

If it did, I would consider it.

out of all your complaints I have installed a little waste basket thingy in my car, go it from Canadian Tire, where is fits in snug, and it can be lifted up with a snap of this button and taken to a garbage bin.

BUT, I will not recycle... ever. You persuaded me to change my literring practices, but its to much to ask for me to organize by garbage and go out of my way to drive it to the recycle depot.

And I thank selfactivated for sticking up for me.

85% of the time I am honest, 15% of the time I create drama (trollish), this time fell into my 85% block.

And I accept Zan's apology for attacking me personally.

And I don't want to get mixed up in office, sorry forum politics... I am not that deeply involved with the divides that I hear about, and like at work, I try to keep away from that... always leads to trouble.

good news on the bin-in-the-car! :)

I see what you mean about the recycling. My mum always tells me about a time when she was young that the school had an outing to the local garbage dump and they saw that it wasbeing sorted through by hand for recyclable and reusable goods. That's the way it was done back then. Now we're supposed to do it ourselves. Basically the powers-that-be stopped doing it themselves, went quiet on the issue and then presented it back to us as our responsibility.

I suppose I'm lucky. Where I live, we can put all of our recyclables into a blue bag without sorting them. We take them out to the curb on garbage day and voila... taken care of.
Makes it very easy to do my part, but I agree it would be quite a pain to sort it all out or keep separate bins for each type of recylable.

the same is true of where i live, but it's still more than we used to have to do (i use we to mean society, as this was previous to my birth)

Where i used to live in the UK collected garbage one week and recyclables the other week, so you HAD to reduce the amount you threw in the garbage or your bin would overflow in the two weeks between collections. It was very effective but some people moaned about it

Jeeze I wish I could steer ya in a direction to get ya started but the vacancy rates are really scarey right now... if you're willing to put your name on a wait list for a condo in one of the outer communities such as the one I'm in, you might have some luck. Rents are astronomical right now though. I'm considering selling my condo... hmmm...wanna buy it?

nope. Not in the market for buying right now since we're coming from two apartments to one. buying might be the next step. The market doesnt seem too bad to an englishman. I'm sure i'll find a place but it'll take me a month or two and i'll have to be flexible.

No worries, was just kidding... I can't sell just yet, much as I'd like to. Good luck in your search though... I'm sure you'll find something if you're patient.

I think everyone should forget weather they like smoking. Consider this. Which would you rather? People smoke in a controlled environment where the air is filtered and you don’t have to go or they smoke well they are walking down the street and their smoke and ashes blows back in your face during your walk to work while you are physically exerting yourself.

It's time to outlaw tobacco, alcohol, perfume, pop, all fatty foods and concentrate on creating the perfect society.
