Well, if/when we get there, I'll buy you a drink and enjoy chatting with you. If I can't do that, it can't be heaven.
Hey, we can do that here, why wait?

Heh... I modifed my post while you were posting that. Yep, we can do it all here except laugh about how totally wrong I was. That we don't know yet.Hey, we can do that here, why wait?

Yes, we can certainly agree on that much at least. Love in the broadest sense, in the sense that the scriptures require that we love our neighbours. Doesn't mean you want to marry them and live with them for the rest of your days, it's about caring and interest and concern and compassion and help and support and honour and duty and loyalty and commitment and dignity and respect... The old Victorian virtues, to which I suscribe. I'd love to sit around a table with you and sanctus and Gil and self and karrie and amber and dozens of others here... but isn't that what we're really doing already? The bond is love, not religion.

It's a metaphor for all of it, a convenient shorthand for our deepest feelings, the things that awe and humble and inspire and sometimes frighten or confuse us, and our responses to them. It's rooted in an ancient Greek (I think) notion that the heart is the seat of such things. It's not, it's all in the head, but the ancients didn't know that.I get that I really do but what is it then when people use the word heart? Spirit? Core being? what?

Jeez, do you think china had any idea what his OP would lead to?![]()
Well, I'm glad you think so, Dex, but I go by dictionary definitions and the ones I saw in the link don't apply to me. I admit to having feelings, though, but that's passion, not spirituality. All due respect and so forth Gil, but that's bullsh*t. I've read stuff where you talk about your wife, and your children, and your feelings, and it's plain that you're as spiritual as I am.
lmaoMy understandings of all that I have studied and learned, I feel strongly that God has given me a big heart to exercise in behalf of many who would need a lift of confidences, and some assurances of there being a God of love.
All souls belong to Christ, and I strongly believe that all of us will know each other there. We will have appreciated the time we spent here on earth for if it were not for it, we wouldn't be sharing this message up there!

lmao
Up where? I kinda get a charge out of people who think their "heaven" is up. I don't think you could find a heaven even if you could go up for the rest of your life and 20 other's lives. I almost laugh when I see people mentioning their god and looking up like it's sitting on top of a cloud or doing a flyby in an ultralight or whatever.
Down there. lolYeah, and that's only the half of it, where the "hell" is "hell".
Down there. lol
Well, it is sposed to be hot as hell in hell, and temperatures get pretty hot as one goes down: the point where the crust and the mantle are together is about 850° C and the bottom side of the mantle is about 4500 C° and so on.![]()
Don't think we need em. Once nerves are dead, they're dead.
I think folks "down there" will warm up to us.![]()
'WE must find out what is a RELIGIOUS mind, because a religious mind brings about a new world a new civilization, a new culture, a new outburst of energy. One must find out for oneself what is a religious mind, not be told, not be directed , not explained to.You can only find out if you deny totally all the present religious BELIEFS and ideas, because it is only a free mind that can find out what is the quality of the religious mind. A prisoner wants freedom, which means first he is caught in a prison, then he wants freedom to leave that prison. That is only reaction. That reaction is not freedom. Freedom implies the total ending of all illusions, of all BELIEFS, of all your accumulated wants, desires. A religious mind is sane, healthy.
