Great white lights, choirs, deceased relatives, etc. When the oxygen is being starved from my brain I see and hear weird stuff, too.
What happens when we die is we are either pumped full of preservatives and buried, or else we are torched and put into a container.

Of course it is. The medical determination of death leaves a lot to be desired. I suggested that they not declare death until say a half hour after their tools indicate no activity, but they know better, I guess. So the heart monitor stops, the electroencephalograph shows no wiggly lines, air pump stops, etc. so they state time of death. Then a couple moments later, a noisy inhalation and the machines start recording stuff again.

there's so many meanings, it's hard to pick one to say yes or no to. lol
We are all born of the elements of this earth, this solar system this galaxy and this universe. When we die we return. Our elements are not destroyed, they are returned to wence we came. I've lost both my parents and one of my younger brothers to heart disease, at way to early of an age (Mum 46, Dad 64, Bro 38). All I need do is close my eyes and they are there. My bro at the front of a fishing boat, cigar or black and tan in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. My mum dressed in clothes she made, standing in the kitchen cooking or baking something with our family dog laying down near her. My dad standing at his wood lathe dressed in a long apron with a floppy cap on and a long chisel he made himself in his hand. I break out into tears if I visit their graves, soi don't go there. As long as I can close my eyes and see and hear them then they retain some semblance of life.
Come back after death to drink more stout. Or to grab a blanket cuz it's cooooooooold down there in the ground.
There ya go. As good a description of the afterlife as any. (I think you meant your brother was 38, not 3, right?)
First off.....Thank you Vin I know where your heart was with this thread.
My recent loss has made this question very prevailent in my every thought. My only consolation is that there is an afterlife. A Summerland. Back in September I had a very vivid vision of my son being there with Goddess waiting for me. I feel his spirit about me all the time. A kiss on the head a warm ffeeling . I personally think we create our own realities of Summerland. Whether its heaven, nervana or whatever. The last thought we have we create.
