My God....Can we not see beyond our noses? Moore has had a good deal of success at what he does....meaning that he makes a fair amount of money. Like anyone else who has a surplus of disposable income, Moore has a finanial advisor who sets up Moore's investments in a way that best serves Moore's financial interests. It is doubtful that Moore even knows about what stocks he has. The Bush government handouts to Haliburton probably makes that company a good investment. Any surprises here? Not that I can see.

Bit,

I saw what you wrote and put in my two cents. Not calling him a liar, if anyone asked me I'd say like others here and call him a hypocrit. Liberals aren't the only ones with hypocrits selling junk.

btw, profiting from stock in a company he's criticizing while he's criticizing it (or since, considering) would be hypocritical, but it wouldn't mean he was lying.

anybody else? Colpy? Its your point, after all.

i'm just outta bed.

Hell, I think the guy is a liar, a con-man of epic proportion, and a complete poser, as well as being generally "disingenuous".

But, heck, I'm easy to get along with. Proving him a complete hypocrite would keep me happy. I don't need the entire enchilada.

I haven't read the book, and an article proves nothing............I'll have to get the book, but it is interesting Moore hasn't sued, IF the book makes the claim...........

Now, as a simple member of the proletariat, without much disposble income, and being the owner of nada/nil/nothing when it comes to stocks (no, Juan, not even in Browning Arms Co.), I am a neophyte in the investment world. (No, I don't own RRSPs, nor do I have a pension fund)

However, I thought there were such things as options to buy stock that was politically correct.......you know, for the California-type loaded lefty class........the name of such options escapes me, but one would have thought that an insistent moralizer such as the large individual in question would avail himself of nicey, nicey money-makers, or instruct his broker to do so.

Or is he simply greedy?

Its good to know you don't consider a Focus on the Family publication to be a reliable source although it leaves me to wonder why you used them as a primary reference in the first place.

afa bothering with a law suit goes, if and when Focus on the Family couldn't prove their published claim Moore would have to give argue value to the damages incurred in order to recieve compensation. Considering the audience, he's probably better off just continuing to enjoy the free publicity.

nice backpeddle.

I DO consider Focus on the Family to be a reliable source......much more reliable than any secular source of information. I simply understand that it would not be considered reliable by a number of the posters here, including yourself.

True, there is no such thing as bad publicity, especially when your fame is set on a foundation of sensationalist clap-trap.

nice backpeddle.

Thanks. :)

I'm no legal expert, but it seems grossly improper that someone could get ahold of someones tax schedules, save of course for audits.

Moore is also a long serving member of the NRA.

If he isn't making money from Haliburton stock he could have bought it to get into stockholder meetings. And If he is, who cares.

It is fairly common for activists to own stock in companies they're going after for that very reason, but I very much doubt that's the motivating factor this time around.

He may not have owned stock when he made the statement. Now he is a rich movie maker he may. Just goes to show the negative impact of too much money on anyones morals and ethics. Money is the root of all evil. That and lust and envy.

I'm still waiting to see if anyone can prove Moore is a liar. All I see is name calling. Why do right wingers hate him so much? He makes money, ownes stock, and is a member of the NRA. So? That doesn't make him a liar.

People like Moore will always attract this kind of attention. Look at some of the conservative media gurus who have been skewered publically over their own transgressions. That being said, all I've found for proof against Moore are words written in a book, and a picture of his schedule 6, could easilly be fabricated as there are no links or sources quoted.

It is just amazing how when one of the media darlings get caught in an undesirable position it is defended portrayed as meaningless,a lie, normal, etc. I think it highlights the fat bas***ds lack of morality and ethics. I lived in the Detroit area and worked on the line at Chrysler's when he made" roger and me." I was a fan,but over the years I have realized that he is not what he wants us to believe. This latest item does not surprise me .
