Yeah Colpy, I'm inclined to agree, but consider the location and circumstances. Pretty much everybody attacked Harper. It's what happens at these things: ferocious partisanship, titanic struggles in the back rooms and on the floor to swing delegates to another candidate, in a highly charged emotional atmosphere. That often brings out the best and the worst in people. Maybe we just saw the worst of Chrétien. On the other hand, I'd be hard pressed to say what the best might be. I never liked him. He played that homespun "little guy from Shawinigan" a little too much. He was no such thing, he was a devious, manipulative... well, don't let me get started on that rant, it'd probably get me banned for foul language and bring down CSIS on me. :)

That was a funny comment. I thought it was well done, although I tired of the rest of the speech. But the point of the speech was to rally the troops, so that's great.

The thing I liked best was how they dragged the counting of the 3rd ballot out until it meshed neatly with news hour.

Actually, the funniest part of Chretien's speech was the bit about how Canada used to have such a great relationship with China, because we didn't offend them...Hmmm...I wonder if there's some other country that, under Chretien's leadership, we seem to have gone out of our way TO offend....

Are you suggesting hitler and mussolini were not right wingers?
No I'm suggesting that you continuously atribute the Concervitives of the West to tyrannts of old. When they are clearly nothing of the sort, just your deluded imagination and assinine generalizations and that only a thought to the contrary from you would be original.
