The last Canada Carbon Rebate arrives on Tuesday after Liberal Leader Mark Carney killed dialed down the federal consumer price on carbon.

Something that should have been done long ago and knowing it will be fully backed by the province.

I didn't make it clear that the post was in reference to a deep water port on Hudson Bay. Maybe not the best thread to put it in.

One thing for sure is there is lots of development to come for the north.

The same problem exists today that did in the past. Muskeg. The rail line sucks. Once upon a time shipping grain to Churchill required very very very expensive aluminum rail hoppers cars. And that was dead of winter with frozen ground. Potash is denser than wheat. A lot denser.

I know it is expensive, but how about putting the rail line on pilings like rapid transit?

The line was built on log piles and corduroy. Its a long way to bedrock. Moving water and flooding is also problematic.

Hudson Bay Rail never put in the preventative maintenance that was required and eventually what was left from CN got swallowed up.

Port Nelson is new to me and further south so maybe picking that site has something to do with the geology.
