How common is this? Any of these? 1 in 5? 1 in 20? 1 in 100? I asked because I’ve had a long week at work and I’m just mentally tired but curious. Ok, I googled.

Kleinfelter syndrome. 1/650-ish.

Turner syndrome. 1/2000-4000-ish

Ambiguous genitalia. 1/4500-ish.

(Actually, so far, more common than I expected to be honest)

A human Chimera? 100 documented cases. I think there’s something like 8 billion people on the planet right now for perspective.

What is the frequency of humans born with red hair? 1/50-100-ish.

What is the frequency of Down syndrome in humans? 1/700-ish?

What is the frequency of polydactylism in humans? 1/500-1000-ish (usually only on one hand also, but whatever, & I’ve met a guy with three thumbs). This is much more common in humans than some of these other syndromes. Does this mean that humans (generally, I guess) don’t have 8 fingers & 2 thumbs?

What are the odds of a human being born a red-headed polydactyl Down syndrome? I’ve no idea.

What does that mean? I have no idea.

So... when are y'all gonna stand up and demand those non-trans kids getting breast reductions stop those surgeries?
For back pain and cancer reasons? Are those reasons to shore up a delusion?

I’m a single mother to a trans teen in Texas. Two years ago he was able to get on a waiting list to receive HRT when he turned 16. Literally the month of his 16th birthday Texas banned gender affirming care for minors. The pain and suffering he’s had to deal with, that was the one thing that kept him going. He attempted his life shortly after his birthday. All I can say is that if your kid comes out to you as trans or queer you go in 100% for your kid. Know that you will have to be their rock and make it very clear to them and to everyone else you in their life that you are their rock. He’s endured a lot of bullying not just by kids his age but by fucking adults. But believe me when I tell you that they quickly paid for that shit. Being in Texas sucks so bad just for the average person, imagine how much it sucks being queer and a minor. I have made sure that he continues to thrive given the circumstances. He was able to graduate one year early and enroll in an awesome art program at a community college. He still has bad days but he is never alone. We have those bad days together. Kudos to the mother who called in. Hella proud of you! 🫶

Trans people exist, trans kids exist and to deny them care IS abusive.

Amazing for this mom to recognize their kid and good on her for the support.

Considering the source, that was a pretty good answer.
It's the only answer. Everybody wants the government to mandate this, or step in when that happens (or doesn't happen). Vaccines. Hygiene. Health. Giving the kid a crack across the mouth. Every single one of 'em talks about "freedom." And "parental rights." And "responsibility." And every single one of 'em wants the state to abrogate parental rights when their pet peeve is involved.

As a minor, they sometimes have to be protected from themselves, and their peers. Sometimes even teachers. As far as I am concerned, Once they reach legal age, they can do whatever they want to their bodies. As long as it doesn't cost taxpayers any money.

How about giving them a frontal lobe first?

And their parents. And strangers. And teachers. And preachers. And people who want sex with them. And people who want to put them to work.

I don't have any problem with that, as a concept. The state can and should step in when necessary to protect the health and well-being of children, even from parents. I'm good with "parental control and rights until and unless the health and/or well-being of the child is threatened."

It just seems to me that recognizing this before a body gets all screaming and creaming over "parental rights" might make for a more rational decision process.
