Never put it together before but Napoleon at war in 1812 along with the British / American war of 1812 must have seemed like total chaos and end of the world as we know it type gloom and doom at the time. No telling what the Chinese were up to. Factor inflation and it brings us to where we are today. Back on the brink of disaster.

It fits the "History Repeats" theory.
