So…the Libs…have surged into a guaranteed spot at this point of official opposition…& Carney’s talking about an early election once he’s coronated…but how many current Liberal MP’s are not going to run again…?

(So far it’s only 34 Liberal MP’s)

I don't obediently hate anybody. To my knowledge, and Tecumseh Bones can correct me, I don't know of a single sitting president who has removed the security detail of a former government official (who had a death warrant on his head from Iran) because they opposed them politically.

I'm not a lemming either, but if you want to get personal, fill your boots.
It's always the last bastion of the lost argument.
Not attacking you personally , I am well aware of your views on Trump .

Guaranteed?
Nothings guaranteed in politics, but there’s 34 Liberal MP’s that state they’re not running in the next election, & there’s no guarantee that Carney won’t invoke the Emergencies Act as his first order of business, then prorogue parliament as his second…using Trump as justification…& not have to bother with either a federal election or parliament in the immediate future either.

This sounds like more than just 40 or 50 Liberal MP’s now assuming 150-ish (I’ve lost count of how many they still are that haven’t bailed out of the sinking ship)…
Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge will not seek re-election, Radio-Canada has learned. However, she will shortly unveil her proposal to modernize CBC/Radio-Canada's mandate.

According to a Liberal source, St-Onge will announce this week that she will not be a candidate in the next election. She represents the riding of Brome-Missisquoi in Quebec and was elected in 2021. St-Onge plans to complete her term as minister and MP.

So…is this 34 or 35 now?

The Opposition Conservatives are calling on Liberal leadership frontrunner Mark Carney to disclose his assets and any other potential conflicts of interests before the contest ends, saying the legislated timeline for him to do so could see him enter the Prime Minister’s Office before releasing any information.

He a Commie from Kaluga.
Nobody’s kicked him off the ballot yet?
(I wonder if she gets her $350,000.00 back? Or if all those that contributed to her campaign, get their money refunded?)

“After a thorough investigation, the Leadership Vote Committee and the Leadership Expense Committee, sitting jointly, unanimously determined that Dr. Dhalla was in breach of 10 violations of the National Leadership Rules, Leadership Vote Rules, and the Leadership Expense Rules,” Ishmael said.

“The violations include concerns about alleged violations of the Canada Elections Act, certain other election finance matters, non-disclosure of material facts, and inaccurate financial reporting,” he continued, adding that violations were “extremely serious.”

Dhalla dismissed the allegations against her as “baseless” and claimed they were an attack on her ethnic origin.

Is she from Kaluga? Libs are targeting those I hear…Her disqualification occurred just days after Dhalla successfully paid her full amount of $350,000 to stay in the leadership race. It is also happening before the party is set to hold its debates in both official languages early next week. Dhalla asked for translation for the French debate, which was refused by the party, before asking for a personal translator.

Dhalla, who served as Liberal MP from 2004 to 2011, & she was forced to resign as Liberal critic in 2009 because of allegations of mistreatment towards two caregivers she hired to take care of her aging mother. Dhalla has always claimed the allegations were false and unsubstituted but ended up paying a settlement to one of them for unpaid overtime. She sounds like an ideal Liberal Leadership candidate. Maybe somebody felt threatened?

"Feminist" AND "anti-racist." Funny how the guy who admonished Americans for choosing the old White guy instead of the woman of colour has punted a woman of colour from the race and is thoroughly backing the old White guy.
I think it would be funny to hear a reporter admonish him for choosing the old White guy. Especially an American reporter.
