When I moved out east from Regina, I really missed good pizza. Whenever I am in Regina I have a Houston Pizza. When I was in university we always hung out at Western Piizza which had very similar tasting pizza. The Western Pizzas we hung out at are all gone now but I did find one just north of Northgate Mall a couple of years ago and still enjoyed their pizza.
It's still there but in name only. The only one making the original WP recipe is downtown.

Houston is still a good pie but not what it once was.

I was thinking of the Pete from back in B-52 days…
Late 80s. Pies were even better there than Strathcona today. Yesterday's was a little undercooked but Monday is $25 for a two topping large so the pies were flying out out the door. 1 a minute minimum.

4 minutes in the air fryer at home gave me the caramelized cheese I like.

I quickly skimmed through but wanted to add, if you're in Nova Scotia, take a stop into Pictou County. Sam's Pizza and Acropole Pizza are kings in that Province. I'm a bit bias though, however, they don't use regular tomato sauce but what people call Brown Sauce.

Another group of very talented immigrants who brought this awesomeness to Canada years back. I see they expanded into Truro now too. Donors are great as well.

If I could describe it as best I could, its a mild spicy sauce. Not hot, but kinda mild pepper spice level. The popular pizza is the combo, which is this sauce on the base, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and lots of cheese on top to hold it all together.

With these combined, it's different from any pizza I had in Halifax, or Toronto or anything I'd find here in Melbourne, but in a good way.

Oh and Australia has their own Aussie Pizza. Usually mozzarella, shredded ham and an egg cracked and baked in the centre. It's not something I would have thought of (egg) but it's not bad lol.
