Some strong winds a blowing that fire with more than 10,000 homes destroyed. Conspiracy theorists promoting land grab accumulation style tactics. Can it be another Walmart Super store in the works.

Tough day for the people who live there.

Destruction leads to a very rough road, but it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar, they're just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world from Californication

The problem is that after a fire, the ground does not absorb water very well.

The mudslides that will follow if rains come will be epic.

They're all millionaires most of them many times over so there's little reason for anyone else to give a shit-there'll be huge insurance payouts & the smart people will GTHO.
Many of them don't have fire insurance. Thousands of insurance policies got cancelled about 6 to 12 months prior to this due to conflict with insurance agencies and the State around payment premiums.

Actually no, a lot of people in the affected areas are NOT millionaires, especially ones many times over. A lot of them are the backbone crews that work Hollywood. Sure they likely make bank - it's LA, you kind'a have to or you live on the street - and sure there are some Hollywood stars that have lost their homes and can easily move to their other home or build again. But not everyone has that opportunity.

Sadly true. And even with the 100% funding help for the fires (debris removal, temporary shelters, salaries for first responders and more for 180 days), it won't be enough.

You're right. Millionaires don't deserve empathy. And of course, everybody in the Palisades is a millionaire. Well, everybody except the billionaires.
They were millionaires prior to there houses being burnt , now maybe not so much .

To be honest, I think putting low risk prisoners to work in any way to help the community is a good idea. In theory. I DO think they should be paid, yes, depending on the job they do, BUT that pay is instantly broken up into sections: pay off legal fees, pay off any fines restitution, THEN personal pay. A prisoner is a prisoner for a reason but they shouldn't just sit in a cell either. Whether they work on the prison grounds or out in the community, it shouldn't matter.

That said.

Anyone who is medium risk should work in prison only and LESS of their 'pay' would go to them; instead it would go to paying off fees, fines and restitution.

High risk will remain as they are.

On top of it all, low and medium do have the choice of not working, BUT if they don't work, that reflects on their record so when they do get out, people see that. Of course it also goes hand in hand with any education they get too.

And if they DO choose to do stuff like this and better themselves, then for fucks sake reflect that too. With Trump being a felon and now President, there is NO MORE excuse to not hire 'felons' for any position (and I really do hope that someone does challenge that bias after this point).

Those guys in the video? They shouldn't be looked down on for risking their lives to do something good with their life if they've fucked up but are willing to work to change.
