A more deserving pair you couldn't invent-simple scum.

Two men have been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison for their roles in the blockade of the Canada-U.S. border crossing at Coutts, Alta.

Anthony Olienick showed no emotion while Chris Carbert appeared glum and folded his arms, as the sentence was read out in Court of King’s Bench in Lethbridge, Alta.

Neither are to serve their full sentences, as Justice David Labrenz gave them nearly four years credit for time they have already spent in custody.

Both were convicted of mischief and possession of a firearm dangerous to the public peace, while Olienick was also found guilty of possession of a pipe bomb.

A jury found them not guilty of the most serious charge they faced — conspiracy to murder police officers at the blockade.

The blockade halted traffic at the border crossing for two weeks in 2022 in a protest of COVID-19 rules and vaccine mandates.

Labrenz says while the men believed their cause was worthy, they can't be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

Bunch of b.s. they should never have had to spend a day in the court room let alone six years in prison .
Canada is no longer a free country . The courts act on behalf of the PMO , bugger the charter of no rights and freedom .

Drunk again you dimwit?
That was a political trial, and the outcome was ordered before the trial even started. The fact that you support turdOWE and his anti democracy thugs is rather disturbing. You should move to OntariOWE or some other shithole where civil rights are not allowed.

What I would surges is that if the followers of these two want to help your cause, do not give all your funds to help them with their jail terms, but send what you can to political party that you think will help. (Hint, not the Liberal party.)

Yeah man, makes the last 11 months of islamo-nazi pigs and their simps raging like assholes seem mild by comparison. How many businesses did the Convoy folks set on fire? How many people did they assault? How many buildings did they shoot up? How much public property did they wreck? Hell, it was one of the most peaceful mass protests this continent has seen in years.
And while the border blockades were illegal, I also know for a fact that local officials have all the power and authority necessary to put an end to any organized disruption to traffic at border crossings. Especially in Windsor.

C'mon, folks! It was just a gun and a pipe bomb! Hell, down hereabouts we got kids taking those to kindergarten!

Canuck wimps.

Nice to see conservatives standing up for the right of every Canadian to take weapons of terrorism to peaceful protests. Long as they're conservatives.

I've always thought it was a shitty idea.

Do you have kids lighting each other on fire with gasoline in your parts?

The only property damage at Coutts came from Canada’s finest sabotaging farm equipment .
