Good. Accurately identifying the source of your problem is a necessary first step.
Palestinian terror group Hamas said Monday night that it informed mediators seeking the release of Israeli hostages that it will stick to its original position on demanding a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza, a return of displaced Palestinians and a “real” exchange of “prisoners” — demands Israel has already rejected as delusional.

So 10,000 civilian martyrs or 100,000 civilian martyrs, it’s worth the cost for Hamas to stick to their guns?
1714239361341.jpeg
Last I heard Israel was willing to drop from the 40 hostages that’re women or sick or elderly for an initial temporary cease-fire, to 33 hostages that’re woman or sick or elderly for an initial temporary cease-fire, but that’s also been rejected by Hamas. Maybe 33 is what Hamas can find for surviving hostages that fit the above parameters?? Irrelevant I guess.

(The US has been seeking a temporary cease-fire in Gaza that would see Hamas free female, wounded, elderly and sick hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and a surge of humanitarian aid. In subsequent phases, the remaining captives — including the bodies of those who’ve died — could be released under a process that US officials say should eventually end the fighting)

So on that note, looks like Israel is going into Rafah. That’ll be good PR for Hamas. Seriously.
The war began with Hamas’s unprecedented attack on 7 October, breaking that cease-fire which resulted in the deaths of about 1,170 people in Israel, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally of Israeli official figures.

Vowing to destroy Hamas, Israel’s retaliatory offensive has killed at least 34,388 people in Gaza, mostly women and children (70%), according to the Hamas run Gaza health ministry.
1714244102471.jpeg
(On Feb. 15, Hamas admitted to losing 6,000 of its fighters, & Hamas is reporting not only that 70% of casualties are women and children but also that 20% are fighters. This is not possible unless Israel is somehow not killing noncombatant men, or else Hamas is claiming that almost all the men in Gaza are Hamas fighters…but that’s neither here nor there)

Hamas says it understands the frustrations of those who are suffering in Gaza. “But these complaints do not reflect the political situation,” (for Hamas, not Palestinians in general) said Basem Naim, a senior Hamas official.

Instead, he said, “we are listening to thousands of voices that are emphasizing that despite the sacrifice, they refuse to let go of the big goals that involve ending the occupation, freeing Jerusalem and setting up a Palestinian state.”

Naim and other senior political leaders, including Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, are based outside Gaza. Inside the enclave, Hamas leader Yehiya Sinwar, the apparent mastermind of Oct. 7, is believed to be hunkered down in a tunnel to escape the Israeli strikes.
1714242377394.jpeg
So on that note Israel believes Rafah is the last stronghold of Hamas, the miltant group that controls the Gaza Strip and is classified as a terrorist organization by Israel, the US and the EU among others.

Israel claims up to four of 24 Hamas brigades are still hiding in or under Rafah. Hamas has been weakened by seven months of fighting with Israel but is not militarily defeated. Although the number of rocket attacks on Israel has fallen sharply, they have not stopped completely.

Didn't Israelis claim Hamas was "essentially wiped out" three weeks ago? You read it, I read it. What changed? US funds? No Hamas no money?

Ontario legislator defies order to remove keffiyeh at Queen’s Park

An Ontario legislator refused to take off her keffiyeh at Queen’s Park on Thursday, prompting an order for her removal from the legislative chamber and her subsequent refusal to budge.

Sarah Jama, who sits as an independent for Hamilton-Centre after being booted from the NDP caucus last year, wore a keffiyeh draped over her shoulders during question period.

It was the second time this week Jama wore the scarf inside the legislature and she said she will continue to wear it.

A keffiyeh is a checkered scarf typically worn in Arab cultures that has come to symbolize solidarity with Palestinians.

Speaker Ted Arnott banned the scarf in March after a complaint, saying it was being worn to make a political statement, contrary to the rules of the assembly. All four party leaders, including Premier Doug Ford, have called on the speaker to reverse the ban.

Ford’s Progressive Conservatives had effectively silenced Jama in the fall when they censured her over comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war.

Independent Member of Provincial Parliament Sarah Jama speaks with members of the press at Queen's Park while she wears a keffiyeh, a traditional utilitarian scarf worn across the Arabic-speaking world which also holds political significance for Palestinian people, in Toronto, Thursday, April 25, 2024.

On Thursday, Arnott “named” Jama, which meant she was not allowed to vote on matters at the legislature, or participate in any committees or table motions.

“You must leave the chamber,” Arnott said.

Jama did not move. The clerk and the sergeant-at-arms both spoke with Jama, but no one tried to remove her with force.

Arnott said later that he was not willing to go that far.

“There was no way for me to have her removed short of physical force,” Arnott said. “I wasn’t prepared to do that or order it.”

Jama, who has Palestinian family, said wearing the keffiyeh is the least she can do to show solidarity.

“The repression against Palestinians and the anti-Palestinian racism in this place needs to continue to be called out,” she said.

“And I think it’s upon all of us to fight injustice with our feet and hands, with our tongues, with our words and in our hearts.”

NDP Leader Marit Stiles has twice tried to get the legislature to pass a unanimous consent motion to overturn the Speaker’s ban on keffiyehs.

But they were shot down after a few Progressive Conservative members refused to consent to the motion.

Stiles said the keffiyeh is cultural attire and once again called on the government “to do the right thing.”

“People come here from all over the world and they bring their traditions and their culture with them and this place that I’m standing in right now is the people’s house, we should be able to wear those items of clothing proudly here,” she said.

Liberal parliamentary leader John Fraser moved another motion on Thursday calling on the government to move their own motion to do away with the ban.

Again, several Conservatives refused to agree.

Fraser said the government has to bring the matter to a vote, rather than opposition parties moving unanimous consent motions that will invariably fail — Progressive Conservative Robin Martin has said she will continue to support the ban.

“It needs to be brought to a vote on the floor of the legislature,” Fraser said. “It can’t be one or two or three people who say no. We live in a democracy.”

Man accused of abducting, raping Jewish woman in France to 'avenge Palestine': Report
The pair met through a dating app late last year

Police in France arrested a man who is alleged to have abducted and raped a Jewish woman to “avenge Palestine,” according to a report.

Paris-based BFM TV reports the unnamed 32-year-old suspect, who was arrested in suburban Gennevilliers on Sunday, also threated to kill the woman in text messages to her family.

“Good luck, you will never find your daughter again, you will never see her again, I will prostitute your daughter,” the man allegedly wrote using her phone. He also wished to “avenge Palestine” in a message to her boyfriend.

According to the report, the man and woman met through a dating app late last year. She visited his home last week and the suspect is accused of refusing to let her leave.

The woman said she called her mother after recovering her phone from the man Sunday morning, which helped counterterrorism police pinpoint her exact location inside the suspect’s apartment.

While initially suspected of kidnapping, the man has been charged with death threats due to religion and use of narcotics. The rape allegation is still under investigation.

“The acts of kidnapping appeared insufficiently characterized, and those of rape require additional investigations carried out as a preliminary investigation,” the public prosecutor said, reports Le Parisien.

The accused apparently acknowledged making death threats, but explained they were merely “provocations,” the report said.

He was issued a ban on possessing a weapon and contacting the victim, local reports say. He will be tried of the charges on June 21.

Last week, NDP members donned their finest keffiyeh scarves when they put forward a motion to recognize a state of Palestine.
Because it’s a cultural clothing option and has nothing to do with being a political symbol or prop in parliament or legislatures whatsoever, right?
Advancing that motion, NDP MP Heather McPherson said, “Our NDP motion does not mean Canada would be recognizing Hamas. Hamas is a terrorist organization and it is not the government of Gaza. In fact, it is far from it.”
Ok…if that’s what she claims. Creating a state of Palestine with Hamas left in control of Gaza wouldn’t really be supported by Hamas and wouldn’t really be recognizing them or rewarding them for their terrorist activities. It would just be a status quo coincidence that Hamas wouldn’t mind. Then all the aid money to rebuild Hamas…I mean Gaza…could/would flow through Hamas, etc…
A reminder: Hamas murdered 1,200 people on Oct. 7, raped and gang-raped women before killing them, tortured men, women and children, mutilated bodies, often by burning them, and kidnapped more than 250 people. The Hamas killers even took videos of their horrific acts.
…& this broke the last cease-fire (not counting the brief one on Nov 2023 that Hamas broke also) leading Hamas to demand…drum roll please…a cease-fire, but a permanent one (until the next time).
Canadians, and the world, may have been horrified by what happened on Oct. 7, but Palestinians, not so much.
Meh, that’s just a cultural thing like humus or keiffiyah’s or perpetual refugee status or firing rockets into Israel, etc…and just like the celebrations on 911, it doesn’t mean that’s what they really mean. “From the River to the Sea” is just a catchy phrase, etc…
1714327143173.jpeg
According to this latest poll, among Palestinians who had not watched the videos, 97 per cent believed Hamas did not commit atrocities on Oct. 7. Even among those who had watched the videos, 81 per cent said Hamas did not commit atrocities.
Oh well. Meh…boys will be boys.
What are we to make of that? That four-out-of-five Palestinians who had watched the videos think the Hamas terrorists were justified? That they acted appropriately?
4/5 probably (I’m assuming here) guess that Hamas will come out the other side of the conflict still in control of Gaza, & Hamas doesn’t deal well with dissent or criticism. Look at the opposing political party from the last (& first, & only) political election Hamas won in Gaza.
When asked about ways to “break the stalemate,” 55 per cent of Palestinians supported “confrontations and armed intifada” (down from 69 per cent in December), while 45 per cent chose “unarmed popular resistance” (up from 39 per cent).
Well, until Hamas & Friends release the Israeli hostages (that apparently Israel doesn’t care about), they are and will continue to receive what they’re wishing for.
When asked to choose a method to end Israeli occupation and establish an independent state, 39 per cent of Gazans selected “armed struggle” over “negotiations” (23 per cent).
1714324828481.jpeg
Given that support for “armed struggle” was down from 56 per cent in December, it appears as though Gazans may be coming around to the notion that violence may not be the best way to achieve their ends. But neither will their continued support for Hamas.
…and here we are today.
It certainly does not help that some Canadian politicians, including Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, are blind to these political realities.
But that’s over there, and there can’t be a spill over into the Canadian nation ‘cuz…?
Over a hundred students set up tents and formed a human circle near the center of campus with banners proclaiming, “Intifada until victory,” and demanding the administration cut ties to Israel.

The demonstrations are co-led by the Montreal chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement, the same group which praised the October 7 massacres committed by Hamas as “active decolonization of Palestinian land.” Another organizer, Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR), called for the release of convicted terrorist Walid Daqqah and celebrated the Oct. 7 attacks as “resistance…with one goal: liberation.”

What aboot the West Bank? Are you asking in reference to Keffiyah’s being worn in Parliament or Canadian Legislatures? Or in reference to Hama’s incursion into Israel Oct 7th being claimed it’s partly over Israeli settlements in the West Bank? Or is reference to that deluge/flood mosque thing that’s on a holy site for Muslims (that’s also a holy site for Christians & Jews)?

You’d have to be more specific. It’s a tangled web of hatred and conflicting interests in that neighborhood that extends well out of the West Bank & into the suburbs and surrounding area.

NDP vow to defy 'unjust rule' if Premier won't overturn Queen's Park keffiyeh ban
Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles has given Doug Ford until May 6 to 'do the right thing'

The Ontario NDP have vowed to defy the rules of government if the Conservatives keep their ban of the keffiyeh in the legislature.

MPP Sarah Jama was asked last week to leave the legislature for wearing a keffiyeh – a checkered scarf worn in Arab cultures that have come to symbolize solidarity with Palestinians – but she refused.

Jama sits as an independent MPP for Hamilton-Centre since being booted from the NDP caucus in 2023 after issuing a statement blaming Israel for the Hamas attacks.

The keffiyeh ban at Queen’s Park was brought by House Speaker Ted Arnott based on a longstanding rule that props and clothing that make a political statement cannot be worn by members in the chamber.

“It’s extremely politically sensitive, obviously, but procedurally I believe I made the right decision in the sense of past rulings of speakers and precedents and traditions,” Arnott said on Thursday. “In my opinion, having done the research, it appeared to me that the keffiyeh is being worn to make a political statement.”

Arnott banned the scarf in March after a complaint, saying it was being worn to make a political statement, contrary to the rules of the assembly.

The Speaker stood by his ruling last week, even after Premier Doug Ford and all opposition parties asked him to reverse it.

“It really comes down to uniting Ontarians and communities,” Ford said Thursday. “We see the division right now that’s going on. It’s not healthy, and this will just divide the community even more.”

Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles has posted a video on X saying her party is working to overturn the ban.

“But Doug Ford MPPs keep blocking us, so we decided to give the government until May 6 to reverse this unjust rule or expect us and the community to defy the ban,” she said. “Doug Ford, it is time for you to do the right thing and reverse the keffiyeh ban.”

“And it is time for us to come together as one community and fight anti-Palestinian racism hate and division,” Stiles added.

The Ontario Federation of Labour also wants the ban reversed.

“The ban is an attack on Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim communities in Ontario. No community in our province should be targeted this way,” the OFL said in a statement. “We urge everyone who supports the fundamental freedoms of expression, belief, and religion to join the rally.”

“The ban must be reversed immediately. If Ford won’t end it, we’ll defy it,” the federation added.

Nope. Why don't they have a Hamas problem?
Because they have a different government (PNA instead of Hamas), as opposed the Hamas government in Gaza? That political party didn’t fair so well in Gaza after their last election? Since 2007, Gaza has functioned as a de facto one-party state under Hamas rule, although smaller parties—including Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and a faction of Fatah that opposes President Abbas—are tolerated to varying degrees. Some of these groups have their own media outlets and hold rallies and gatherings. However, those affiliated with President Abbas and his supporters in Fatah are subject to persecution? Or are you leading towards something else?

Israel has long accused Iran of helping Palestinian terror groups, including Hamas, the Islamist group in Gaza that led the October 7 attack on Israel and which has become more deeply entrenched in the West Bank over recent years.

Last month, the Israeli military said security forces had stopped advanced weapons, including anti-tank mines, from being smuggled into the West Bank.

Yes, as Jewish-Canadian are being terrorized in Canada by various members of the Palestinian community we should come together to fight anti-Palestinian racism, hate and division while watching them and their islamic brothers and sisters engage in anti-Jewish racism and hate,

You know what Palestinians bring to Canada? This fucking garbage. "From the River to the Sea Palestine shall be free" is code for ethnically cleansing the region. The only river they can be talking about is the River Jordan. And that's the shit Marit Stiles is devotedly supporting here. Palestine won't be free until they quit letting islamo-nazis run their shit, got nothing to do with Israel.

When the PAL twats were celebrating in the streets over the Oct 7th massacre of Israelis, were they victims then? Cuz it's kind'a weird that people who support Palestine's 76 year long war of extermination against Israel are whining about racism and hatred towards people who support Palestine's 76 year long war of extermination against Israel.

And yet Hamas and Fatah aren’t exactly buddy-buddy…& it’s Hamas that is the defender of land in the West Bank? What do the Fatah representatives in Gaza say about this? What do the displaced in Gaza say about this? I can almost smell the hand of Iran in this claim.
The reconciliation process and unification of Hamas and Fatah administrations remains unfinalized and the situation is deemed a frozen conflict…which sounds so familiar…like the Hamas Israeli negotiation.

The battle (The Battle of Gaza was a military conflict between Fatah and Hamas that took place in the Gaza Strip from 10 to 15 June 2007resulted in the dissolution of the unity government and the de facto division of the Palestinian territories into two entities: the West Bankgoverned by the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), and the Gaza Strip governed by Hamas. Hamas fighters took control of the Gaza Strip, while Fatah officials were either taken as prisoners, executed, or expelled.
Meanwhile in Riyadh.,.

Yep. It’s like the chubby girl on the back of your bike. “Damn fun to ride, but you just don’t want your Buddies seeing it happen.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are engaged in an ongoing struggle for influence in the Middle East and other regions of the Muslim world. Gotta have Street Cred (or whatever the Middle East equivalent of that is) with the Muslim Brothers in solidarity etc…but here we are. In return for its cooperation, Saudi Arabia wants from Washington a formal defence pact, assistance in building a civilian nuclear programme, and expedited access to high-end US weapons, including F-35 fifth-generation fighter aircraft…’cuz climate change and global warming, etc…Saving the planet one F-35 at a time. I’m sure Greta would approve.
