You hear one fiddle song from the East Coast and you think to yourself, "Hmmm...not bad."

You hear two fiddle songs from the East Coast and you're thinking, "I'm getting a little uncomfortable right now."

You hear three fiddle songs from the East Coast in a row and you want to go into a McDonald's with a machine gun.

Am I right??

Some of it’s pretty cool but in small doses. It does make you want to get off your arse and hit the dance floor (or mosh pit in days past), but not once did it make me want to take a machine gun to a McDonald’s? Damn…

Worked Security at a Scottish Pavilion years ago, & though the band was from Ontario it had an East Coast meets Scotland meets…..Metal (?) thing going on. Talk about weird fusion that worked! Band was called “Mudmen” & if they still exist they might be worth checking out someday if you’re looking for some fun, East Coast Fiddle with a twist. Mentally picture ZZTop in Kilts.

They have a Bluegrass festival at a campground we used to go to. I can take about 10 minutes of that and then my hearing aids come out. Same when the wife puts the country music station on.

"No you are an idiot and an asshole."

This was not grammatically correct. You should have written...

"No. You are an idiot and an asshole."

Just thought I'd clear that up for you. 😀

No, not even close. Like any musical genre, some of it sucks, some of it's brilliant, most of it's at least adequate as music, depending on your tastes. Personally I generally like it, it's toe-tappingly bouncy and cheerful for the most part, and requires considerable skill and talent for proper performance. As evidence I offer this from the Rankin Family:
. In those kinds of tunes you can hear the roots of much American country and bluegrass music, and the breakneck fingerpicking styles of people like the Dillards, Doc Watson, and Billy Strings. But considering its likely effect on you, Hoof Hearted, I suggest you not listen to it.

I suppose three rap or country songs in a row would drive me bonkers as well.
Rap, whatever it is, isn't music, never heard a rap number I could tolerate for more than a few seconds, makes me want to empty a double barrelled 12-gauge into the radio. Some country music is good--Dolly Parton's "Jolene" comes immediately to mind--but most of it leaves me cold, and the worst of it makes me want to stop the car and smash my forehead against the dashboard a few times. "Achey Breaky Heart," "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly," "She Got the Gold Mine I Got the Shaft," ... yeesh!

Oops!

I apologize for the 'Machine gun in the McDonald's' statement. I should know better. I'm schizophrenic and gawd knows these wackos who actually do these types of things don't help my image.

I was being facetious.

HIck-Hop is a thing? I suppose there's a sort of horrible inevitability about that appearing in the cultural landscape, given all the other damnfool things going on in this world.

A Pink Floyd concert also gets the joints moving.😁
We went partying afterwards with the guys in the band & others. Rode up in the elevator with her & Ike. Didn't realize how Tiny she was. Going to work the next day was excruciating - (hang over) I was the only one to make it in to work but I left b4 the other girls so I don't know what happened after. Great memory, that's for sure!
