Can anyone here explain to me as to why a Canadian has to fill out one of those ARRCAN apps on their cell phones for the Marxist government in Ottawa before entering America or wherever else that they may want to travel too, and then have to also then let the Marxist government in Ottawa know as to when we are planning on coming back to Canada?

What is with this nonsense anyway? As a Canadian, why should I have to do any such thing as ridiculous as this? Of what business or concern is it of the government to want to know as to what my travel plans are at anytime? What? Am I now living in a communist country where I now have to tell the Marxist government in Ottawa as to when I want to go anywhere outside of Canada and give a time and date for my departure and return to and from Canada? This stupid Marxist program needs to end now.

Do you think that this smacks of communism? I certainly do, and I despise the idea that I have to tell the Marxist government in Ottawa my own personal travel plans. It really is none of their bloody dam business as to when I leave Canada, and when will I return. I can still remember the good old days, just two years ago, before covid came along where I could come and go as I pleased without having to report to the government in Ottawa on my travel plans.

ArriveCAN. You don’t have to fill this out to get into the US…., but you have to have it on your phone if you wanna get back into Canada without being put into isolation for 14 days…. Or whatever number of days they’re using at this point in time.

It doesn't have to by your phone. It can be your iPad. They get the info when they scan your passport. In theory it will save the border guard time than asking all those questions at the border. Bottom line is if you are not vaxed, you have a 14 day quarantine and 2 covid tests to get back in.

Just trying to untangle the threads here. Generally as a matter of law, a country does not owe anybody entry, and can condition entry any way they like. That said, Canada being (roughly) a democracy, the government will have to answer to the people. . . sorta.

In Canada, a citizen or permanent resident cannot be denied entry...period. It's their charter right. Visitors are not offered the same right.

All the arrivecan bullshit is new, made up out of thin air...denying or restricting entry based on some broken fucking app is a direct violation of people's rights, but that's not stopping the Government from penalizing and punishing people who just want to travel and get home without being accosted by their authoritarian overlords. It just came out in court this week that the travel vax mandates Trudeau brought in last year were motivated by politics to be used as a political wedge against "Unvaccinated Canadians who are extremists, racists, and misogynists who deny science", used for trying to win the last election, they were not based on science.
