Hope not but with the NDP supporting them, the only hope I have is that Trudeau does something that pisses the NDP off - ta da - election! Yay. But I don't see that happening at present cuz the NDP can't afford an election anytime soon.
They might just find out we can not afford free daycare and pharmacare which is of course true . That is apparently the cost of NDP support . The liberals talk a good game it is in the actions where they fall short .

Governments spend a ton of money that we can't afford to. What makes you think this is any different?

Alberta picks six proposals to develop Canada's first carbon storage hubs

Canada’s main oil-producing province Alberta on Thursday selected six proposals to move forward with developing Canada’s first carbon storage hubs, intended to help cut climate-warming emissions by permanently sequestering them underground.

It's hard to quantify the level of reckless contempt this government has toward the prosperity of this country. On top of current severe supply management issues, compounded by a Russia/Ukraine war, rising international tensions, despite international sanctions that are hurting the domestic population more than their intended target, despite inflation rising at a rate we haven't seen in decades, despite recovering from a pandemic that killed off or hobbled many small businesses, despite rising debtloads, rising interest rates, on and on...despite all of this, Trudeau still gets a kick out of playing fucking Jenga with our future. Unreal.
For families living in the four provinces where Trudeau imposed his carbon tax — Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — gasoline prices because of the federal carbon tax will rise by 2.2 cents per litre to 11 cents per litre, on its way to 37.4 cents per litre in 2030.

But then there’s the other stuff that is background in most media…

The cost of natural gas for heating homes will rise by 2 cents per cubic metre to 9.8 cents per cubic metre, on its way to 32.4 cents per cubic metre in 2030.

However, Trudeau’s carbon tax doesn’t just apply to gasoline and natural gas, but to a total of 22 forms of fossil fuel energy in all, which is why whenever the carbon tax goes up, the cost of almost everything goes up because almost all goods and services consume fossil fuel energy.

Infrastructure to go from CH4 to H is already in place for home heating. It's just a matter of doing it. It's easy and there isn't any shortage of CH4.

Intrest rates are rising , the strain on the treasury will start to manifest itself . If they continue printing money it will start to reflect on the Canadian dollar putting further strain on the treasury . They will possibly (probably) foist it onto the provinces as they do with healthcare but that will receive pushback .

True, although even Conservatives have promised things like "clean water" for the indigenous and neither the Libs or the Cons have followed through. So if we can't afford to fix the water systems, how in the hell are we to afford low daycare fees and pharmacare and dental as well. I'm thinking those will be even more than fixing water systems which is the most heinous thing that has happened to our First Nations. Clean water should be the priority over almost everything else because how long have they been waiting? This is something we should be ashamed of, for sure!!!

With inflation continuing to grow as our dollar sinks, Oh ya don't forget we're getting "programable digital currency" is coming so the dollar will be worth crap! Ya, we have soooo much to look forward to - being poorer is just one of them

If we force them to live there , which we pretty much do with the Indian Act we must give them reasonable living conditions and employment opportunities. As for pharma and daycare , the feds can easily afford it , they will simply pass a bill forcing the provinces to fund them .

Buy some gold and or precious metals and gems with some disposable cash , it might come in handy and can always be passed on tax free .

Golly, it's like they want us to stop burning fossil fuels or something. Sheesh.

That's part of the overall strategy for sure, economic "persuasion". Clearly, spouting off about the science has fallen on deaf ears for a few decades now.
When there are no viable alternatives, it's just a tax grab. By viable alternatives, I mean affordable and commonly available alternatives to the same people who are buying 1995 Chevy cars since that is all they can afford. They ain't going to buy a Tesla even if it was ideal for their driving circumstance.
