That's doubtful, I'm about as far left on the political spectrum as Mr. Poilievre is to the right, the fight here is for votes from the center.
The conservatives can never out liberal the Liberals yet they continue to try .Scheer and O’Toole were both squishes , another will provide the same or worse results at least in the west . Trying to connect with both liberals and conservatives is just like pissing into the wind .

I've read a bit on this and there are verifiable biological differences between liberal and conservatives, or more accurately basic differences in the way people think that cause them to tend to the liberal of convservative ends of the spectrum. With that in mind, the challenge of finding common ground between the two is incredibly difficult.

Scheer and O'Toole both came really close to victory as far as the popular vote went, that suggests that a win isn't out of the question, they just have to get realistic about what it is that turns people away from voting conservative in the metropolitan areas.

Probably mapping out a position and sticking with it , instead of letting the press dictate what the people supposedly want . Both of those above mentioned changed with the wind . When Harper won it was by staying on message . When he lost it was due to no longer having a solid message , they basically ran on just not ready .

LMFAO, you aren't getting the other side unless "the other side" means taking it up the ass. You're being played.

To me it sounds Ike you are incapable or too fucking lazy to do your own searching and need to be spoonfed public knowledge.

I made a fuck tonne off of investments that tie into covid (52% since 2015 to be precise). Am I part of the covid cabalistic boogie fucking man overlords or smart enough to see an aging population consuming anything medical being a sure bet?

Have you considered buying some vitamins from Alex Jones? Good mental health and nutrition go hand in hand.

That's probably some very wishful thinking. Even if Poilievre had the support of all conservative voters he's still too far to the right to woo anyone over from the left, and with the NDP holding the balance of power the deal is pretty much done before it starts. Most Canadians do not want a baby-Trump making a mess up here like the one south of the line. He still faces some pretty serious opposition from within the CPC, Patrick Brown has bared his claws in a big way already.
Actually, we need a "Trump-like" individual - one who has the guts to tell it like it is and follow-through with the promises - no bloody flip/flopping! He doesn't need to be crude or rude like Trump can be but certainly as determined. Now all we have are "yes-men" with no values, no integrity and everything to do about lining their own pockets. I don't know that anyone running either for the Conservatives or any other party for that matter that would fill the boots that we really, desperately need right now.

Do you think a "Trump-like" individual would gain traction outside those already voting conservative, or even get sweeping support within the party ? Most of the people I know look to what went down in the US under Trump with either disgust or horror, nothing we'd want in Canada. We're just too darned nice for that shit. :)

Harper was also pretty much in the centre or close to it. I don't think he strayed too far to the right. I am not saying he was liberal but not far right conservative.

And in 2015 he also was also running against all the potheads.

Yes His nightly tweeting was over the top , but it seems he was correct about the lying fake news media . He was being spied on by the alphabet agencies , Russian collusion was as he said a hoax , and look over there Hunters lap top wasn’t Russian disinformation after all .

yes but he didn’t let the press force him to change his message . Consistency is a strong key if the message is sensible .

Remember most voters are neither left or right , and most voters do not belong to political parties and they can change support on a dime .

Actually, what did Trump do but improve the economy, increase job opportunities for minorities, made the U.S. more energy independent and you want none of that for Canada? Really? Huh!

I don't give a crap about his "personality" - it's his policies that were working so well for the Americans. In addition, his tax policy reduced taxes for over 85% of Americans which would kinda be nice for us considering our taxes are quite high. But hey, each to his own.

Trump didn't create a strong economy, he inherited it, and everything was not as rosy as some would have us believe. His gross mismanagement of the pandemic has put many AMericans in a hole that it will take them years to climb out of, and it didn't have to be like that.

Which gross mismanagement was that ? The one where he fast tracked the vaccine ? The now where he said Ivermectin and others were showing promising results , information he received from the medical research community and was mocked for it . Remember Nick practically everything in the legacy media about Trump was a lie .

That discussion was over and done with a long time ago. He's not stupid, I'll give him that, he managed to finagle his way into the White House, but he sure as hell didn't deserve it.

As for inheriting a robust economy ,

The same people that spent five years lying about him put him in the White House , the legacy media . Blame them they gave him 24/7 coverage during the Republican primaries , free coverage while the likes of Bush had 105 million dollar war chest .
As far as deserving it , does a guy hiding from the press in his basement deserve it ? Did a junior Senator from Illinois deserve it ? Did a guy whose daddy bought him the presidency deserve it ?
Like Stephen Harper said the electorate has decided and they are never wrong .
