This is closer to what PGS was posting which makes it smell like a setup that worked to break the blockade
RCMP announced Monday morning they seized a cache of firearms from a small organized group within the larger Coutts protest after executing a search warrant for a location near the blockade.
“Information was received that this group had access to a cache of firearms with a large quantity of ammunition,” said RCMP in the release.
“The group was said to have a willingness to use force against the police if any attempts were made to disrupt the blockade.
“As a result of this investigation, the Alberta RCMP executed a search warrant during the early hours of Feb. 14, on three trailers associated to this criminal organization.”
Organizers of the blockade at Coutts told the Western Standard they are not associated with this group in any way and “condemn their actions 100%.”
“We don’t know who these individuals are or where they are from,” said Marko Van Huigenbos, one of the main organizers at the blockade.
“Due to being infiltrated by a group with violent intentions, we have decided to go on our terms,” said organizer Marko Van Huigenbos.
“They brought guns into our community. We cannot let that be louder than our message. We will roll out of here peacefully.
“We can’t control all the people joining us. We had a tough call to make and I feel we made the right one.”

For the second day in a row, Ford on Tuesday referred indirectly to his eldest daughter, Krista Ford Haynes, who has been critical online of COVID-19 vaccines and public health measures like masking.
The premier appeared emotional as he spoke about the issue.
“I’ve never seen this country and this province so divided,” Ford said during an announcement in Hamilton Tuesday. “It has affected friendships, it’s affected coworkers, it’s affected families. And I can tell you guys, I faced all three of them and man it’s challenging, especially on the family side.”
In one post, Haynes Ford expressed skepticism about government messaging that COVID-19 vaccines are safe, and she also showed support for Freedom Convoy protesters that her father has urged to go home.
Ford said he has made his decisions based on the advice of Ontario’s chief medical officer in the interest of public safety.
The premier has stressed repeatedly the need for society to unite again, noting he also wants an end to capacity limits in settings like restaurants and proof of vaccine requirements.
“I’m just as frustrated as anyone else,” Ford said. “On March 1, we’re just going to open things up and thank God.”
