Sure, works for me...not much else to do if you have no counter argument.

One question though...how do you feel about Quebec declaring itself a distinct nation, separate from Canada...and the Federal Government supporting them on this? How do you feel about First Nations self-governance? Do you think they should just simmer the hell down and fall in line with the rest of Canada? I mean after all, this obvious regional/cultural "system rigging" with the Federal Government endorsing and even fighting for it.
I'm against a few things Quebec does. Let's start with not allowing erecting a sign not written in French!

Okay, but I wasn't asking about french signs. How do you feel about regional/cultural self governance within a soverign Canada? Is this acceptable? If the Federal Government allows this and endorses it, should the West be afforded the same opportunity to control their regional policy?

Not sure what that means...other than you can't answer a question.
Never tried to answer a question , but it is in black and white . The feds will never allow regional self government in the west , as that would take away their monetary control . The whole set up of confederation insures that . Why do you think the Maritimes are three separate entities ? They had to much financial clout in 1867 and that would never do for Upper and lower Canada . Also why the prairies are three separate provinces . Confederation is a stuffed deck .

You're right...they won't. But should they? My premise is that the West is under represented...and they aren't the only ones that have weak or no representation in Ottawa. If the Federal Government is going to allow self representation for other regions or groups, how can they not allow this for the West? They definitely can't without creating a massive amount of division, disunity, and anger in Canada, like we need more of that. It would seem to make much more sense to amend the current system or at least the attitude in Ottawa to better represent under represented regions and try to salvage some semblance of unity and cohesion in the country.

I know it has been a common practice for Liberals to divide and conquer, and it worked exceedingly well in past, but it feels like people in the West have pretty much had enough of the standard issue Laurentian fuckery. This isn't the 80's, the West doesn't want in anymore...increasingly, they want out.

I welcome all comments...peanut gallery included, nice to see someone engage.

Of course the older I get and the longer I think on it , the conclusion is increasingly a break up of Canada as in its present form it does not make sense . The only trouble is all the regions are inhabited by the same people and in a couple of generations will have a bunch of smaller messes .

In a couple of generations it likely won't matter anyhow, post-modern socialism/communism will likely have a firm root by then....sooner if potato gets his majority.

Unfortunately, I'm too old to pretend not to know...but too young to pretend not to care.

Within most countries there's federal gov't, provincial gov't, municipal gov't, reg. district government. I think they are mostly reasonable!

And as the Federal government takes more control from "certain" provinces and leaves them with less autonomy, this system designed to serve those people in that region becomes less and less effective.

No doubt that is a possibility, but as the metrics of the situation aren't generally known at the individual's level and possibly shouldn't be then it wouldn't be within the realm of the individual.
