If you're a Republican, you should be scared.

As a Canadian.

If I have enough money I can get a meeting with Joe Biden. How can anyone trust in a system serving the establishment. Hillary will be elbowing her way in shortly.

Goldman Sachs beats Robert Mercer is a better headline.

You have no understanding of the American political system. Democrats still lost the senate, and lost seats in the house. How is Biden going to be effective, with Mitch McConnell vetoing anything he does? Let's not forget Trump stacked the Supreme Court in the GOP favor.

The Senate is now tied and has some Republican senators, like Susan Collins, that can be persuaded. It will only take 1.

Also, people (both Republicans and Democrats) don't realize that these court picks don't neatly fall within party lines. The courts aren't going to suddenly remove progressive freedoms primarily because they know that doing so simply defies justice.

No president has been this vulnerable after their first term.

This is the last hurrah.

There are 4 seats still uncounted. They are all current Republican seats. For the senate to be a tie, 2 of them must flip to Democrat.2 are in Georgia, 1 in NC and 1 in Alaska. If they are tied, the VP will break the tie so it is in control of the President (whomever it is).

Given only 3 seats have flipped total (2 Republican to Democrat and one the other way) I think the odds of 2 more flipping are low.

After becoming President, I asked some of my bodyguard members to go for a walk in town. After the walk, we went for lunch at a restaurant. We sat in one of the most central ones, and each of us asked what we wanted. After a bit of waiting, the waiter who brought our menus appeared, at that moment I realized that at the table that was right in front of ours there was a single man waiting to be served.
When he was served, I told one of my soldiers: go ask that man to join us. The soldier went and transmitted my invitation. The man stood up, took the plate and sat next to me. While eating, his hands were constantly shaking and he didn't lift his head from the food. When we finished, he waved at me without even looking at me, I shook his hand and walked away!
Soldier said to me:
- Madiba, that man must be very sick as his hands wouldn't stop shaking while he was eating.
Not at all! The reason for his tremor is another - I replied. They looked at me weird and said to them:
- That man was the guardian of the jail I was locked up in. Often, after the torture I was subjected to, I screamed and cried for water and he came to humiliate me, he laughed at me and instead of giving me water he urinated on my head.
He wasn't sick, he was scared and shook maybe fearing that I, now that I'm president of South Africa, would send him to jail and do the same thing he did with me, torturing and humiliating him. But that's not me, that behavior is not part of my character nor my ethics. Minds that seek revenge destroy states, while those that seek reconciliation build Nations ′′

As of 11:30 AM Mountain Time, here are election results:

Nevada: Trump increases his lead to 14,000 votes and should win, since Clark Country (metro Las Vegas) is a blue county.

Arizona. Will be very close. Trump is gaining and 60,000 votes behind.

Pennsylvania: Biden has cut the lead to just over 100,000 from 700,000 24 hours ago. He is expected to win as there are over 600,000 votes to process.

Georgia: Extremely close. Trump is up by less than 14,000 votes, with about 50,000 ballots to be processed. It can go either way.

For Nevada, I assume you mean Biden increases his lead.

The AP has already called AZ.

ROD LIDDLE I love the sound of wailing lefties in the morning after Trump election shock

ROD LIDDLE I love the sound of wailing lefties in the morning

Rod Liddle
4 Nov 2020
The Sun

YES! Just what I like to wake up to every morning. A bowl of cornflakes sprinkled with leftie tears.

The sobbing, the gnashing of teeth, the wailing. In the newspapers, on social media and the BBC. ESPECIALLY the BBC.

The presenters, the pundits, the pollsters, the US correspondents, all with faces like a vigorously smacked bottom.

They all thought poor old senile Joe Biden was going to romp home with a landslide victory in the American presidential election.

As ever, they were very wrong. They should read The Sun a bit more often. I’ve been saying in this column for weeks that Donald Trump could very well do it. Things are in the balance right now, with Biden maybe nudging ahead.

But if Trump does win, it will be an astonishing, remarkable victory.

Never has there been an election in which one candidate was subjected to such outright hatred from virtually the entire media and the social media giants, the likes of Twitter and Facebook.

And from Hollywood. They didn’t even try to hide the bias.

Fat lot of good it did them. The voters of the US looked at the economy — doing well — and they looked at the leftie rioters and looters who the Democrats refused to condemn. And they voted. Black and *Hispanic voters swung over to Trump — imagine that, you liberals!

What do you have to say? A landslide victory? Miles off. But then, they always get it wrong. Just like, these days, the polls always get it wrong.

They got the 2015 General Election wrong over here — the Conservatives won with some ease.

They got the EU referendum vote totally wrong — we voted for Brexit. They thought Hillary Clinton would defeat Donald Trump in 2016 — wrong, wrong again! In our last election they thought it would be a hung parliament or even a victory for Magic Grandpa’s deranged Labour Party.

'UTTERLY CONVINCED'

What happened? Massive Conservative majority.

And the reason the liberals get it wrong and end up crying into their kale and goji berry porridge is that they live in a fantasy land.

They do not dwell in the real world. They are utterly convinced they are right. Their friends and colleagues in the liberal elite all assure them they are right.

They don’t want pollsters to think them ‘racist’

People who think they are wrong are stupid. Not just stupid, but white supremacists, racists. Uneducated. Nasty — “deplorable” in the hopeless Hillary Clinton’s words.

You remember all those insults from the Brexit campaign? Same thing happened in the US election, times ten.

And so when the pollsters come knocking, the silent majority are wary of revealing their true feelings.

They don’t want to be considered “scum” for voting Conservative.

And in the US they don’t want to tell pollsters they’re voting for Trump because they don’t want the pollsters to think them “racist”. So they don’t tell the truth. And I don’t blame them.

Joe Biden is slightly more likely, right now, to become the next US president.

It is all terribly close. The landslide never happened. In which case, good luck Joe and good luck the USA.

Boy, they sure will need it.

"BREAKING: Trump's Department of Justice and Attorney General Bill Barr just approved a plan to allow armed agents to take over ballot counting venues starting tonight. Trump is attempting a soft coup. This is not a drill.

Armed Agents Are Allowed in Ballot-Counting Venues, Justice Dept. Tells Prosecutors

Former officials expressed fears that the department’s legal interpretation would allow federal investigators to intimidate vote counters or interfere with their work.
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department told federal prosecutors in an email early on Wednesday that the law allowed them to send armed federal officers to ballot-counting locations around the country to investigate potential voter fraud, according to three people who described the message.
The email created the specter of the federal government intimidating local election officials or otherwise intervening in vote tallying amid calls by President Trump to end the tabulating in states where he was trailing in the presidential race, former officials said.
A law prohibits the stationing of armed federal officers at polls on Election Day. But a top official told prosecutors that the department interpreted the statute to mean that they could send armed federal officers to polling stations and locations where ballots were being counted anytime after that.
The statute “does not prevent armed federal law enforcement persons from responding to, investigate, or prevent federal crimes at closed polling places or at other locations where votes are being counted,” the official, Richard P. Donoghue, told prosecutors in an email that he sent around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

We Were Wrong About America

Numbed by a cocktail of optimism and ignorance, many of us imagined this was a sick, momentary aberration; a temporary glitch in the system that would surely be remedied: after so much ugliness, such open disregard for people of color, such inhumanity toward migrant children, such a sickening failure in the face of this pandemic—sanity would surely come to the rescue.
We were certain that we would collectively course-correct; that the pendulum that had so wildly swung toward inhumanity would come roaring back to decency in these days; that we would presently be basking in the glory of a radiant dawn referendum on all this bloated bigotry.
We thought we would be dancing on the grave of fascism.
We thought, of course the good people of this nation would come to their collective senses, leaving behind political affiliations and superficial preferences and ceremonial ties, to rescue us from a malevolence that had proven itself unworthy of its position and toxic to its people.
We were certain there would be a mass repudiation of the racism that this man has revealed and the violence he’s nurtured, because for all its flaws we really believed America was better than this.

I knew it was a rat's nest of evil doers, racists, sexists and all sorts of perverts and criminals but, hey, I'm only Canadian. Y'all have fun when the civil war breaks out.
