Because I know you won't believe me here
Debate moderator Steve Scully raises eyebrows with tweet asking Scaramucci 'should I respond to Trump'

Did you read that part where it said his Twitter account was hacked? I know you won't believe it and that's fine, but there it is.

C-SPAN said Friday the Twitter account for Political Editor Steve Scully, who was slated to host the second presidential debate, was hacked after a tweet was posted from Scully's official account in which he appeared to ask for advice from Trump critic Anthony Scaramucci about how to respond to criticism the president had leveled at him.

"Steve Scully did not originate the tweet and believes his account has been hacked," C-SPAN said in a statement. The Commission on Presidential Debates has stated publicly that the tweet was not sent by Scully himself and is investigating with the help of authorities. When additional information is available, we will release it."

The debate Scully was supposed to moderate has now been canceled.

The Commission on Presidential Debates on Friday canceled the second presidential debate in Miami, one day after President Donald Trump refused to take part because it was moved to a virtual format.

The cancelation comes after the commission announced Thursday the next debate would be remote to "protect the health and safety of all involved" after Trump's positive COVID-19 diagnosis and the subsequent White House outbreak.

"I’m not Joe Biden. I’m not going to do a virtual debate," the president told Hannity on Thursday.

In a radio interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on Friday, Frank Fahrenkopf, co-chair of the Commission on Presidential Debates, said "he was hacked" and that Scully did not post the tweet to Scaramucci.

"It didn't happen," Fahrenkopf told Kilmeade.

While criticizing the job Fox News anchor Chris Wallace did as a moderator during the first debate, Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night he thought Scully – who interned for then-Sen. Joe Biden as an undergraduate at American University – was a "never-Trumper" who "worked for Biden at one point."

A post quickly appeared on Scully's Twitter account in which he tagged Anthony Scaramucci, who has become a fierce critic of the president since his brief stint as Trump's communications director.

"@Scaramucci should I respond to trump," it read, according to screenshots of the since-deleted post.

"Ignore. He is having a hard enough time. Some more bad stuff about to go down," Scaramucci tweeted in reply.

The exchange prompted cries of outrage from Trump's supporters who said the tweet was evidence of anti-Trump bias on the part of Scully.

"Steve Scully, the second Debate Moderator, is a Never Trumper, just like the son of the great Mike Wallace. Fix!!!" Trump tweeted, just before C-SPAN said Scully had been hacked.

Fahrenkopf said the commission knew about Scully's internship with Biden, which took place more than 40 years ago but dismissed it as being in the distant past.

"Steve is a man of great integrity," Fahrenkopf said.

Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, said the allegation that Scully would not moderate the debate objectively was "beyond ridiculous."

"Steve Scully is eminently fair. Anybody who watches CSPAN knows that," Sabato tweeted in response to the president's criticism. "Trump obviously doesn't spend time there – not enough bile for his tastes."

If this election is messy , uncertain, etc........it is because Donald WANTS it to be so. He can claim invalid election and just stay in power ......If he can't win the normal way. Don't put anything past him when it comes to claiming a win.He will claim a win regardless. That is one of the fissures in his delicate psyche .

Talk of Trump is getting tedious. He's a man of bluster and very few skills. If he pulls off a win on Nov. 3 then I've misjudged the American people.

Well stated. particularly about the American population. and culture. Personally , I think they have become dumbed down into thinking in slogans........and have an over inflated idea about just how great they are. They have bought into their won slogans. Meanwhile their nation is not a safe nation. It is not a fair nation. They still can't accept people with a different pigmentation as equal. And they certainly don't seem to care about the overall health of their population. So it really is "survival of the fittest" on the most primal level. It is a nation of extremes.

You know, you make an interesting point OB. I have a very good friend who lives in the US. She is a registered Democrat who voted for Trump in 2016. I should mention here that I was happy for her that her chosen candidate won and that I too was excited to see what Trump would do as President. Well it wasn't long before the bloom fell off for me, but she to this day continues to support him and intends to vote for him in the upcoming election.

You speak of Trumpers thinking in slogans and you are right, not that my friend does but I do find that sometimes she doesn't always have all the information around given issues (I believe because she limits her sources to seek out a fuller picture) and is quick to make a judgement before having that information. And that is frustrating. She and I have had very heated discussions but have remained friends. And in fairness she too has brought information to my attention that has made me too rethink some of my positions.

Lickily the difference is that with her we both are willing to bend and accept the other's side on some points and often have good discussions where we both can speak of the pros and cons to both sides of this political nightmare. I still try to sway her to not vote for Trump but she won't budge lol. And in the big picture we both value our friendship enough that we won't let this opposition get in the way of that. Trump is not worth losing a good friend over.

Very interesting. Does she say WHY she supports him?? Does she list the points that she favors about him?? One thing I have noticed on this forum........is that trump supporters don't provide reasons for their thinking. They are inclined t just bash "liberals"

I have relatives in various states , with various political inclinations. Those for Trump are fixed in their beliefs and rigid. Those that are not.....seem a lot more reasonable and flexible. and tend to see the man for what he is. It is like their brain ( programming) are different. ;-)

I have yet to hear a good answer as to why the Trump supporters do so. .......but the economy comes up regularly........excerpt that it does not wash now. My hunch says it is in part because he is so different.. His unpredictability , chaotic approach has appeal to them. It is really fascinating, isn't it?

I too supported Trump for the first couple of years. Reason one he came to decisions fairly quickly and number two he was eager to roll up his sleeves and get at it. I too felt too many criminals were getting into the country and he detested one of the main things I did, street drugs. Maybe if he had just focussed on a narrower target, he'd have more to show today. If someone could get a handle on the drugs, a multitude of other problems might go away!

One of her reasons for supporting Trump is that he got rid of the mandate in Obamacare, and I know she has spoke of some in her family seeing more in tax refunds. Other than that, not too much. I know in 2016 it wasn't so much that she voted for Trump as it was she voted against Hillary, which I understood, and I know living in Cali. she is not a supporter of Harris and that's enough for her not to vote for Joe. I think if he had a different running mate it may have made a difference for her, but probably not much of one as his age is a concern for her.

Scully never came out on his own and claim it has been hacked yet, the commission came out in his defense and now it appears they canceled the whole event because of it interesting eh?

The Black vote are not sitting by hanging on the words of Biden, in this article where Candice says masks are mandatory ABC tries to say they are not required go figure

Candace Owens group pays for some attendees' travel to Trump's White House event

Some guests for Saturday's White House event on the South Lawn, which will be President Donald Trump's first since testing positive for the coronavirus, had their travel and lodging paid for by controversial conservative activist Candace Owens' group BLEXIT, according to emails obtained by ABC News.

Supporters, who are also scheduled to attend a separate BLEXIT event earlier in the day, were invited to attend a "HUGE outdoor rally" by the group and asked to fill out a form that notified them that BLEXIT, a campaign urging Black Americans to leave the Democratic Party, will be covering travel costs.

Guests were later informed they would be receiving an invitation from the White House to attend an event with Trump.

In an email from Owens, obtained by ABC News, attendees were told "EVERYONE MUST BRING A MASK TO BE ALLOWED ENTRY ONTO THE WHITE HOUSE GROUNDS." and that "absolutely no exceptions" will be made.

Still, wearing a face mask will not be required. Attendees will have to submit to a COVID-19 screening the morning of the event, which will consist of a temperature check and a brief questionnaire.

Guests will first attend a "BLEXIT Back the Blue event" on the Ellipse between the White House and the Washington Monument before heading over to the South Lawn for the president's remarks, according to a schedule obtained by ABC News.

When reached for comment, Owens told ABC News, "We are not interested in participating in your obvious media angle here to slander/attack the President regarding Covid-19." She added that Saturday's event "is about supporting law enforcement in minority communities." It is not immediately clear how many of those set to attend the event had their travel costs covered.

White House spokesman Judd Deere told ABC News the White House "is not involved in covering any cost."

Following Trump's remarks, the BLEXIT group is also planning a demonstration at Black Lives Matter Plaza showing "support for law enforcement," according to the schedule.

The White House plans to host an event on Saturday featuring Trump with hundreds of supporters and guests from Owens' group on the South Lawn discussing "law and order," ABC News previously reported.

MORE: 2nd presidential debate between Biden and Trump canceled
"All attendees must bring a mask with them and will be instructed to wear it on the White House Complex. All attendees must submit to a COVID-19 screening tomorrow morning. This will consist of a temperature check and a brief questionnaire. The health and safety of all attendees is our priority and following CDC guidelines is strongly encouraged," a source with knowledge of the group's planning told ABC News.

Trump will deliver "remarks to peaceful protesters for law and order," according to an invite obtained by ABC News and confirmed by two White House sources familiar with the planning. The move underscores an effort to deliver the president a packed crowd of supporters for the event as he struggles with support among Black voters. Joe Biden led Trump, 88% to 9%, among Black registered voters, according to a Sept. 26 ABC/Washington Post poll.

Owens, who founded BLEXIT in 2018, told ABC News it is an organization "with the purpose of educating minorities about conservative principles (free markets, entrepreneurship, capitalism, etc) -- concepts and theories that can truly transform and uplift our communities.".....More

This article and the attitude by the Dems. and MSM are certainly going to win back the Black voters, discredit their concerns, put down their message, ignore their voices, like Biden said you aint Black if you support Donald Trump.

I Didn’t Vote For Trump In 2016, But I’d Crawl Over Broken Glass To Vote For Him Now
I don't care about the tone of his tweets nor if his opponents think he's rude. I've seen that he is a patriot who genuinely loves the United States of America and its people

https://thefederalist.com/2020/10/0...-crawl-over-broken-glass-to-vote-for-him-now/

The story of many. Trump will win even more bigly than in ‘16.
