Maybe this subject can be brought to a conclusion once and for all. I go to the lab in town here, where wearing a mask is mandatory, for blood work once a month, where at least 10 or more professionals are working. I think their opinions are more valid than random opinions off the street and they have Bonnie Henry to back them up. I takes a lot of gall for a lay person to think they are more of an expert than Bonnie.
well...... being a retired RN........I have a certain familiarity with what is important to do in a pandemic .............. even if I am not current as to the latest techniques / equipment. There are certain basics that are ground rules.

Dr. Bonnie is an excellent source of information ........and should be taken seriously. But there will always be those that think they know better.........and you can't teach them anything. They will do as they please with little care tor anyone else. It is one ting to question things.....but quite another to behave irresponsibly.

NO! What it proves is anyone who takes the number of risks he took has a good chance of getting it. I have some prime beach front on Ellesmere Island for sale for anyone who believes the malarkey we are ALL going to get it.

The group around him are tested daily

Have I been fit tested for a mask? Well yes actually I have been, both by my husband who took safety courses through his job to certify him in the handling of dangerous goods, and by medical staff while my husband was receiving chemotherapy treatments at home through his chemo port. When receiving at home chemo treatments you are given something called a chemo spill kit in the event of well, a spill. It is a complete PPE kit including an N-95 mask that the medical staff taught me how to properly fit. Does that qualify? Good enough for ya?
Tell me, what course was it that you took that taught you of the potentially very serious health risks associated with wearing a face mask, mostly from bacteria. Please post a direct link to the organizations that host these courses. Also please provide the direct link to studies speaking of these life threatening bacteria in face masks. I would sincerely like to read those studies.
Yes I do believe that wearing a face mask makes a difference in the spread of covid and I will continue to do so. And no need for the closing lesson from you, I know probably, more than you, the protocols to follow related to face masks.
Did the smoke make your eyes water?

You've hit the nail right on head! Kudos to you for knowledge and common sense!

I'm pretty sure the result of his "lousy management" will become obvious Nov. 3. :)
I HOPE so. I just heard on CTV that the polls are showing a lot of disappointment in Donald for how he has mishandled the pandemic. ..........but we shall see.

Personally, speaking for myself I know nothing about the value of face mask, but common sense dictates a barrier is better than none. I am lucky to know a few people who do have professional knowledge on the matter.

Did anyone see Trump latest photo op?? Yep.....he did it again. Took a ride in front of his supporters just to show them how strong he is ........and then back to the hospital.

He only risked the health of the staff with him.........this time. His show is getting tiresome as it is reckless.& immature.

He wore a mask. Since masks work, there's nothing to worry about.

Yeah, they work in that they REDUCE the risks. There's no sure things in this world.

How much risk do they reduce? What is acceptable level of risk?

It doesn't seem to matter that the motorcade Trump rode in is a hermetically sealed compartment designed to withstand chemical warfare attacks, it's not enough for some who simply see everything as an opportunity to push an agenda. These are the same idiots who are demanding mandatory mask wearing everywhere in public, despite limited to no evidence they offer any protection at all.

I agree with you completely on one point, there are no sure things in this world. Despite being one of the most dangerous daily activites we can do, most of us still hop in a car every single day and personally accept the risk for the convenience and utility that it offers. It's unfortunate that regarding this virus, we have collectively devalued our personal freedom of choice to a point where we blindly and willingly give in to the authoritarian demand of government and hollow screeches from an impotent media in a futile effort to try and eliminate virtually all risk.

Did he not walk . That equals coming to his defence , in your eyes . Stretch much ?

Yeah it does in my eyes, and you can call it a stretch if you like, that's okay. But considering your views on the treatment of women I don't consider it much of one. After all, you're the guy that thinks a man raping a woman is one who just has a sex life right?

Both from Firefighter training and hazmat training. We get it tested every year. AND I guarantee you don't know anywhere near as much as I do about face masks or you would know about the potential for bacterial build up in a mask from not cleaning.

You can guarantee me all you like that's fine, doesn't make you make you more knowledgeable than I in the proper use of disposable medical face masks. You may know more related to a fire fighters mask, granted but that's not what we're talking about now is it? No it isn't. The discussion is concerning the use of face masks to help prevent the spread of Covid. I know fully all the protocols to follow.

According to Davidson Hamer, an infectious disease expert:

There's also no evidence that the use of masks causes fungal or bacterial infections, according to Davidson Hamer, an infectious disease expert at Boston University. Disposable face masks are meant to be used once, then thrown in the garbage. With cloth masks, it's a good idea to wash them regularly.

Right . You have me pegged to a tee . Racist misogynist , Republican clinging to my guns and religion . You would think I should live in flyover country with that basket of deplorables .
