but by doing so.....he is being deceptive about something that is life threatening. It is so unprofessional. at the least.
Do you want a purist Doc Fauci sidelined with no access to the president (like it or not, he is the president), or do you want a Doc Fauci who does what it takes to get what he and the public can from the whiny brat?

I'm not sure I woulda made the same decision, but I honor him for it.

Of course it does. I've proposed effective gun-control measures several times.

But gun buybacks don't work, for reasons that are obvious to all but True Believers.
no.

the assault weapon ban did not immediately eliminate all violent crime and was therefore a failure.

why say anything at all?? Trump has not exactly treated him with the courtesy that would be warranted. Why make a deliberate supportive statement when silence might have been wiser. It has a feeling of coercion.......(just my impression)

Go shtup yourself, boy. I'll talk to somebody who has serious ideas about reducing gun violence.

As over-the-top screamers go, you give Walter and Boomster a run for their money.

Asked and answered, OB.

Do you want to be right, or do you want to be effective? Doc Fauci did what he thought would maximize his effectiveness.

That, my friend, is the scientific approach.

I'm not gonna second-guess him. He knows Mousseolini a hell of a lot better'n I do. And this ain't his first rodeo.

He should be in a position of being right AND effective.

I get what you are saying........but I guess even the medical profession can b e manipulated.for political gain.

listening to some of the Woodward interviews.......... My goodness.......is he ever a polished interviewer. He certainly "handled" Trump........ with just the right amount of ego stroking

Get the impression that Trump was more "truthful" with Woodward than he has been with anyone else....... including the US population. He even acted deferential to Woodward.

Very interesting.

Perhaps OB and I get what you're saying and don't entirely disagree with you but there's a possibility he's more interested in helping people through this virus and is swallowing his pride to do so.

As was stated on news earlier Trump was interested in impressing Woodward and thus his guard was down. I thought that was an interesting take on it.

I think that Fauci is scared of Trump......... and is not prepared to counter him because he knows how petulant and verbally destructive Trump can be.

But I am still surprised he made that statement. It makes no sense. Personally, I have lost a lot of respect for him. Something stinks. Why would he toss his integrity & reputation down the drain??

I think Fauci is frail mentally and physically and possibly losing his marbles. I just hope and pray Trump can't bully his way to winning the election. If he does maybe assassination is a possibility.
