I've heard the alternative a lot over the years and I could never make sense of it. Maybe sometimes words just fall out of people's mouths with no consideration of the meaning. :)

so why did Trump say that he went there to check it out. ??

No one has to put Trump in a negative light.......Trump does it all by himself. And lately he has been batting a thousand. he is a disgrace to humanity. Those that still support him....don't have the brain power to realize that.

Personally, I am dreading this coming election period......... It will get ugly and no one ls as good at doing ugly as Trump . The whole process has become undignified and reduced to a barroom verbal brawl. Gone is the eloquence of a Kennedy, an Obama, and a Clinton. It is sad that trump feels he has to be so nasty , aggressive , negative. & provocative
