China announces $2 billion in international aid

As America retreats China advances.
“There was a failure by this organization to obtain the information that the world needed and that failure cost many lives,” Azar said. Speaking hours after Chinese President Xi Jinping announced China would provide $2 billion to help respond to the outbreak and its economic fallout, Azar said the U.S. had allocated $9 billion to coronavirus containment efforts around the world.
China, meanwhile, sought to divert attention to its renewed efforts to slow the coronavirus pandemic, with Xi announcing the $2 billion outlay over two years to fight it. Last year, China donated about $86 million to WHO.
U.S. National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot characterized China’s newly announced contribution as “a token to distract from calls from a growing number of nations demanding accountability for the Chinese government’s failure to meet its obligations.” He said that since China was “the source” of the outbreak, it had “a special responsibility to pay more and give more.”
Xi said China supports the idea of a comprehensive review of the global response to COVID-19 and that it should be "based on science and professionalism led by WHO, and conducted in an objective and impartial manner.”
That's right, blame the Chinese for it, Idiot!

The new numbers bring Canada's total confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths to 78,061 and 5,842, respectively.
More than 50 per cent of Canada's coronavirus cases have recovered as well, with 39, 251 people declared virus-free as of May 18.
Both Quebec and Ontario reported the highest amounts of new cases and deaths once again.
Quebec, the epicentre of Canada's coronavirus outbreak, announced 707 new cases and 34 new deaths on Monday.
While infections and deaths in the province account for more than half of Canada's total, Monday's death toll was the province's lowest increase in deaths since mid-April. The province's death toll currently sits at 3,596.
Ontario, on the other hand, is set to go ahead with a limited reopening of its businesses this Tuesday, marking the first step to the province's reopening plans that were initially announced last week.

The issue of COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care and seniors homes in both Quebec and Ontario was also brought to forefront.
According to the Ministry of Long-Term Care in Ontario, a total of 1,389 deaths have been reported among patients in long-term care homes across Ontario. A total of 189 outbreaks are still active in nursing home facilities across the province.
Last week, chief public health officer Theresa Tam said that seniors accounted for more than 80 per cent of the country's COVID-19 death toll.
Global News has also learned of additional members of the Canadian Armed Forces testing positive for the coronavirus while participating in the military's operation to help long-term care homes in Quebec and Ontario.
A military source told Global News on Monday night that 14 CAF members that were a part of the military's COVID-19 response operation -- Operation Laser -- tested positive for the coronavirus.
A further 43 members are also in self-isolation after possible exposure to the virus.
Other provinces also reported additional cases of the coronavirus as well.
British Columbia reported an increase in 16 cases over both Sunday and Monday, while Alberta announced 39 new infections.
Both Manitoba and Nova Scotia reported single-digit increases to their COVID-19 case totals.

So it's bad you get tested as sick and have to self isolate for two weeks?![]()
So what is the point in taking the test? Trump goes on and on about tests, "we have the best tests, the most tests, the most modern tests on the planet" but it doesn't discriminate what disease you have. If you have any one of the diseases listed, they mark it as Covid 19. It is stupid.
Funny thing, nonwhite races are pissed at Chinese too and China is losing out huge in markets. They have financial issues and middle class revolt on the rise.Funny thing about your post is that the US committed $9 Billion for the same relief, so much for your China good Trump bad narrative.
The international community is taking Xi's pledge for what it is
China also attached conditions to the inquiry, it has to be conducted by the WHO
You can find more in this Canadian Press release Hoid
WHO bows to calls from countries for independent virus probe

You just had to get that out?Trump is an idiot!

It was created in the US and exported to China like everything else. The US built the disease control lab in Wuhan. It is Karma that they have the most cases and most deaths from something they created, no?Well why wouldn't they?
China created this mess so it should be criticised for it
I fail to see what skin colour has to do with it.
