Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

The CDC violated its own standards when developing the testing kits in a lab that was also working with synthetic coronavirus material, the Post reported. This led to contamination of one of the components used in the tests, which is believed to have caused false positives in the first batch of tests. The CDC took more than a month to correct the issue, hindering efforts to limit the early spread of the coronavirus in the US.
Federal officials told the Post the Department of Health and Human Services is investigating the development of the original kits, which was first flagged in January when 24 of 26 test kits sent out to public health departments showed false positives.
The error — and the delay in fixing it — likely contributed to a delay in testing that allowed the virus to spread undetected
because of Trump.

The man in charge is now a whistleblower wanting his job back, go figure

That's the point I was making.
They took aggressive action(s) and were successful in both limiting the impact of the virus and minimized the impact on their economy
YYC may not have everything in full swing by then. Yesterday, they suggested another 10 days.
To be fair, the crazy fat kid took aggressive action denying the problem, refusing to respond, and blaming Obama.

Thanks for showing that to us yourself.

End the lockdown. Herd immunity.

They aggressively "shit canned" their economies in the short term.

Sorry if I misinterpreted your comments.

I think we both agree the action they took was superior to other nations.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

South Korea did.
They were also doing mass testing right at the beginning.
What they didn't do was brush it off as some sort of liberal hoax or just an average flu.
They fought it like champions during the early stages.
They followed the science, not fantasies.
U.S. 4200 cases per million
Canada 1950 cases per million
SK 214 cases per million

You have to remember that the US and Canada are both sparsely populated country. The populations of the US and Canada are both very small relative to the size of both countries.

You both would have fared much worse if you were as crowded as Britain and Italy.

And the US lockdown is a failure. End that failure. End the lockdown.

Make no mistake, my comments were not directed at demeaning the US or reveling in someone else's misery.

The political BS aside, and we have the same dynamic happening here in terms of Trudeau using this as an electioneering opportunity, I believe that the long term effects of this event will have very real health effects (mental and physical) long into the future.

My point in referring to those 4 countries that took a different path is that other nations could have benefited from Sweden or S Korea being the lab rat and taking all the risks.. Observe (and maybe even cooperate) with these nations and alter your course accordingly.

That said, I can sure appreciate that Trump is a 1-man train wreck when it comes to stick handling this situation.

Talking about "the science" is just as much bullshit and fake news that we get from you lot as "the science" you lot bang on about when it comes to climate change.

The fact of the matter is that there is no "science" - different epidemiologists have different opinions on the matter. There are those who agree with the lockdowns and those who don't. I've even read articles taking the opposite view of yours - that only herd immunity can give us a vaccine.

So don't come it with "the science" claptrap. "The science" is just an invention of a group of zealots to brainwash the public into thinking they are right.

And the US lockdown is a failure (proving that "the science" is wrong). So why continue it?

Well said...Doesn't getting any more fair than that.

Is there a way to do two thumbs up?

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

By the way, when you enter your biggest recession in history and we our worst in 311 years, I wouldn't like to be a known lockdowner. They'll probably be treated similarly to those Nazi sympathisers in France in 1945, getting their hair shaved in front of large crowds.
