Protesting against ending the lockdown?

Uh..............no. That is a stock photo taken during the illegal blockades in support of the so-called hereditary Wet'suwet'en chiefs. I gather Blackie had no idea what actually went on during the protests.

Yep, and everyone needs to get it.

The techniques developed in the wake of Vietnam, mostly by amateurs and veterans, and the techniques being practiced by the military and VA, would be a good starting point.

I hope my profession bullies reluctant employers to shell out the bucks for it. Might could write a threatening letter or two (complete with Dickensian language) myself if the chance comes my way.

And there's not much place for me to say it, so I'll just put it here. Joe Kaplan died at 66 of Covid-19 Friday. He was a good man and a good lawyer. We'll miss him.

I'd bet he had a great sense of humor, Tec.

You know what, here's a question for you Blackie.

Why are so many in nursing homes dying to Covid 19, when there aren't this many deaths at once to the flu, if Covid is "just the flu" or "just a cold"?

Shouldn't herd immunity have taken hold by now?

What about these places like processing plants in the US; people are dying there, they're getting Covid, presenting as asymptomatic... shouldn't herd immunity be kicking in by now?
Why are healthy (presumably healthy) younger staff in these nursing homes dying from COVID 19 compared to "just the flu" or "just a cold"?

The schools should be the last to open. Kids are the worst at social distancing. And they are great carriers and spreaders. Quebec is courting disaster opening schools back up on May 8th.

I can't imagine how one teacher could possibly control a classroom full of kids that have been penned up for months - let alone the fact that little kids by nature are physically demonstrative. I wouldn't feel it was safe for my grand-kids to go back unless there was at least a teacher's aid for every two students and that will never happen. A lot of thought and planning has to go into sending kids back school and they better get it right the first time.

50,000 cases? We're at 58,000+ DEATHS!

Poor li'l Canada. Always second best.

Watched CNN for a bit today. Watched Wolf tell the nation.........or at least those who watch him...........that the deaths due to Covid-19 in the US now surpass the number of Americans who died in the Vietnam war. The virus, however, only took 2 months.

I heard the same today, and it's just tragic. And the fact that some still try to downplay this as a common flu is so uneducated. The common seasonal flu killed 34,200 Americans during the whole 2018-2019 season. Coronavirus has killed more than that in just one month.

Wonder........if those that minimize the virus to a regular flu are so afraid that this is how they can mentally cope with it. It is a form of denial. Or they are getting their information from sources like tabloids and Fox.( the alternate reality source )
