Big Night In: Stars and royals help raise £27m on BBC charity show

The stars of shows such as Doctor Who, Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley and Miranda have sent messages of thanks and hope on BBC One charity special The Big Night In.

More than £27m was donated during the three-hour event, with the government promising to double the total.

The show saw Children in Need and Comic Relief join forces for the first time.

Peter Kay, Catherine Tate and the Little Britain duo also took part - as did the Duke of Cambridge, who appeared in a surprise sketch with Stephen Fry.

Prince William was then joined by the Duchess of Cambridge and their children to lead the weekly Clap for Carers.

The UCP really dropped the ball on this pandemic. The two largest meat packing plants in Canada both have severe outbreaks of COVID, as well as the Kearl Lake oilsands camp. The OH&S measures leave much to be desired.
Luckily, I am in Edmonton, where the pandemic is under control. Calgary area makes up over 3/4 of cases.

Yup, Edmonton is such a shithole that covid won't even go there.
