Is Trump forgetting one critical component of getting the economy back on track? Can he convince consumers to pack shopping malls, bars and arenas etc with so much uncertainty surrounding this virus? Will Americans and essentially those of us in many countries feel comfortable going back to the way things were? What happens in the event of a false start, and we go right back to shutdowns? It's something I've thought about.

I work hard to look for the best in people, and I rarely talk about the unredeemable qualities of anyone. But my muses allow me, in fact encourage me, to express one outburst per season, and I have chosen to take advantage of this dispensation today:

The most powerful person in America is pusillanimous, craven, contemptible, dastardly, poltroonish, vile, decadent, heinous, degenerate, corrupt, vulgar, wicked, treacherous, delusional, deceitful, cruel, barbarous, inhumane, tyrannical, brutish, depraved, malevolent, monstrous, virulent, vicious, sadistic, spiteful, loathsome, calamitous, dire, galling, grievous, hurtful, carcinogenic, injurious, pestilential, toxic, malignant, metastatic, shallow, cataclysmic, ruinous, woeful, fiendish, ghoulish, macabre, and intractable. - Rob Brezsny

Added: sociopathic liar.

You're probably right but I do wonder if people are going to behave differently in small ways once this has passed.

Not from what I have been noticing lately . Social distancing seems to be a fading fad . That said all open business are doing what they can to maintain distancing protocols .

Yeah, I've seen social distancing fade somewhat as well, it's disheartening but it is what it is I suppose. You're right on businesses doing what they can with protocols, it's sure a different looking world. We were out just this morning grocery shopping and it is still shocking to see how our behaviors are controlled, but here we are.

And we can't blame the grocery stores for all their controls ...Their employees are the most exposed to to this contagious diseases!
