Currently, yes. Nothing saying it has to stay that way.The current leadership in both Vancouver and Victoria are dead set against any ships or trains or pipelines in Layla land

For now. All it takes is a few strong people to change things.Which is the majority.
We are taking YT and NWT with us.
Just making the point that the coastal, San Diego to Marin County California ain't the whole state. This is the state that elected Ronald Reagan governor. Twice.Actually.......I have been to Bakersfield, Tec. The city itself doesn't stick out in my mind as we made our visit as brief as possible. What does stick out in my mind is crossing over from Nevada into California. The shock of seeing mounds upon mounds of every conceivable type of garbage filling the ditches just flat out floored me.
That is debatable , it has positive and not so positive outcomes . That canary has already flown , unfortunately. That is province wide. Different in the lower mainland. There are areas where street signs are in foreign languages. Multiculturalism was and remains a huge mistake.
And I'm pointing out that calling the language of a country an ocean away "foreign," and the language of an island an ocean and a continent away "not foreign" is kinda weird.I'm making a future political observation. To function in BC for most of the last hundred years you'd have best learned English, and it isolated from Canada then to function in BC for most of the next hundred years you'd have best learned Cantonese if not Mandarin.
Ronnie was an actor. Sort of. That is like Oregon or Washington electing a timber Barron gov.Just making the point that the coastal, San Diego to Marin County California ain't the whole state. This is the state that elected Ronald Reagan governor. Twice.
George Washington was a farmer. Abraham Lincoln was a manual laborer. Harry Truman was a tailor. Dwight Eisenhower was a career soldier. And a timber Barron [sic] is a businessman. I thought you were peeing your pants with joy over having a "businessman" in the White House now.Ronnie was an actor. Sort of. That is like Oregon or Washington electing a timber Barron gov.
Two actually. Movies is the main industry in California. People in California have difficulty distinguishing fact from fantasy. Probably because of point 1.George Washington was a farmer. I thought you were peeing your pants with joy over having a "businessman" in the White House now.
I assume you have what you think is a point here.
I've actually spent a fair amount of time in California, and I find that people there are about the same as the common run anyplace in terms of their grip on reality. Probably better than those poor, dumb saps in West Virginia who think Trump is going to bring back the coal industry. Two actually. Movies is the main industry in California. You can't? Unless they join the US, how the f*ck ya think they're gonna get their petroleum products to market?
They would be two landlocked territories trying to move their product through what would become a foreign country. They may be having a hard time doing it now, but it'll be impossible if they separate.
...and become a Banana republic.
uummm BC is the Canadian gateway to the Pacific Rim. I think we'd eventually become the "Singapore of the western hemisphere". We'd be ok, IMO.
Ignorance on Parade.
Movies is the 9th largest business in California.
You seem to be incapable of making a point without resorting to a lie. And this is just general conversation.
Oh, gee, lemme think ............They should be that and much more already.. So, why aren't they?
Well, the Canucks were in the Stanley Cup, so they got distracted. They should be that and much more already.. So, why aren't they?
Totally off .Well, the Canucks were in the Stanley Cup, so they got distracted.

Besides the fact that there is an unending list of "could bes", what occurs to me first is mismanagement is the reason BC isn't. But there are other reasons. It's a fair question.
If BC couldn't make it happen despite their vast natural resources and with no regional disruptions (read: possible separation of their connection), how can you suggest that BC 'could' be anything close to Singapore?
