Currently as BC is part of Canada and not an island west of Buffalo at this point. I thought it was a hypothetical question being "What would BC do if Alberta & Sask (not that they're going to) separated from Canada. I think in less than 30yrs BC would first become "Cascadia" and shortly after would become "New Zhōngguó"Not going to happen . We on the coast may seem to be overrun , but it isn’t really the case . To many different demographics involved , not one cohesive unit .
I'm making a future political observation. To function in BC for most of the last hundred years you'd have best learned English, and it isolated from Canada then to function in BC for most of the next hundred years you'd have best learned Cantonese if not Mandarin. How would that be more foreign than English?
Actually.......I have been to Bakersfield, Tec. The city itself doesn't stick out in my mind as we made our visit as brief as possible. What does stick out in my mind is crossing over from Nevada into California. The shock of seeing mounds upon mounds of every conceivable type of garbage filling the ditches just flat out floored me.You've clearly never been to Orange County or Bakersfield.
If Alberta and or Saskatchewan separate , what do you think B.C. would do ?
Not really if you think about it . In the early years of the last century the north and interior held the political power and let the English power brokers in Vancouver and Victoria wrest it away .

You think, given the opportunity to have a foothold in North America that China wouldn't be all over BC with submarine pens up and down the west coast of NZ (New Zhōngguó) ?? They'd be on that like white on rice, and don't you worry about the NZ thing being copy-write of New Zealand as by that point New Zealand would be just another Hong Kong off the East Coast of Australia for strategic purposes. China having the opportunity to chew out a chunk of North America between Alaska & the West Coast of the USA? Please....in a freak'n heartbeat on the time scale that China plans for.
We are taking YT and NWT with us.You can't? Unless they join the US, how the f*ck ya think they're gonna get their petroleum products to market?
They would be two landlocked territories trying to move their product through what would become a foreign country. They may be having a hard time doing it now, but it'll be impossible if they separate.
Well we still have the good ole U.S.A. as our closest neighbour, and am pretty sure they won’t want submarine pens so close to theirs . I am not overly concerned about annexation by China .Currently as BC is part of Canada and not an island west of Buffalo at this point. Well your observations are incorrect , The lower mainland may appear to be run over by Chinese , yet we also appear to be over run by East Indians in other areas . And of course , Japanese , Korean , Thai , Laos , and Malaysian all have communities , do they all look the same to you ? Don’t forget Flips .I'm making a future political observation. You are certainly more intelligent then the loonies , I will give you that .Yes really, and I did think about it. The Left Coast is in the ranks of the Alt-Left loonies. And yes, we here in the Interior today, are very much more intelligent.
That is in the works.Or perhaps get Manitoba on board, and construct a pipeline to the Port of Churchill.
In perpetual fear.uummm BC is the Canadian gateway to the Pacific Rim. I think we'd eventually become the "Singapore of the western hemisphere". We'd be ok, IMO.
Only the weak-minded, but then again, the weak-minded are always in fear of something. In perpetual fear.
That is province wide. Different in the lower mainland. There are areas where street signs are in foreign languages. Multiculturalism was and remains a huge mistake.I don't think that will happen. English is the language of finance and the wealthy. The only way the Chinese would take over BC, is to do it internally, be outpacing the European Canadians, and it's likely the White population would have to drop below 25% to have any success of that happening.
Not to mention the internal strife between the Chinese and East Indians, who have not had the greatest relationship in history. As for the current population of BC:
European Canadian: 63.8%
East Asian (Chinese, Korean, Filipino, etc): 18%
South Asian: 9%
Aboriginal: 5.9%
Lots of potential port sites in the Arctic since globull warming did what icebreakers would never do.We are taking YT and NWT with us.
The current leadership in both Vancouver and Victoria are dead set against any ships or trains or pipelines in Layla landuummm BC is the Canadian gateway to the Pacific Rim. I think we'd eventually become the "Singapore of the western hemisphere". We'd be ok, IMO.
Which is the majority.Only the weak-minded, but then again, the weak-minded are always in fear of something.
