The articles are about the US and their employment stats put Canada's to shame. It's a no brainer! How many jobs for cash under the table are going to get reported to the Gov't.? If you are on E.I. for an extended period how are you supposed to live? If they find out you are earning $2 an hour on the side they will likely cut off your E.I.
All those who want one.
Nothing wrong with werking as much as you need to to make ends meet. Not everyone has a 70" tv.
That's a minor factor when the numbers of people needing to work more and have two or more jobs is increasing. Like I keep saying, average wages have stayed more or less stagnant (relative to increasing costs and the like) since the late 70s while production and profits have grown immensely.

Are you slightly over exaggerating a situation? There are many reasons for a second job . Lots of people work a job for wages in the day , and contract work after hours, trying to get enough business to go it alone . Most firefighters I know work a second job of sorts with the four on four off schedule. So you're okay with people working to exhaustion, putting pressure on an already strained medical system and employment system, and assistance system when they suddenly burn out and can't work?
Cause for some, that's what things are like. You can't work enough to cover the ends what so ever.
Minimum wage is not meant to be a live style . If there are only minimum wage jobs available in your area maybe it is time to move . People have been migrating toward greener pastures since the dawn of time .So you're okay with people working to exhaustion, putting pressure on an already strained medical system and employment system, and assistance system when they suddenly burn out and can't work?

Maybe some of the problems start back in grade school. A lot of kids aren't taught the rudiments of planning and budgeting both of which are so important.
No one is forced to work for unscrupulous employers .Or maybe it's because of other reasons, like lack of business, lack of industry, lack of advanced education, lack of a lot of things including a lack of business CEO's giving a crap that their employees barely exist on what they make because it'll cut into their profits?
Baloney.Except that is not really true .
Exactly. But average wages haven't kept up with higher production and higher profits as buying power decreases.Nothing wrong with werking as much as you need to to make ends meet.
Biggest reason is to make enough for a decent living and save for a retirement. Haven't you ever wondered why most people can't afford huge families any more? Are you slightly over exaggerating a situation? There are many reasons for a second job .
