It is, and we are finding out that all these racism charges against Bernier are coming from Scheer.

Using the fake news in order to hurt his fellow white natty - just like a real American.

I voted Rhino in a Quebec principal election back in the 70s when my choices were between a separatist, another separatist and someone else who wanted to separate away from the other separatists. The candidate's name was Yo! Gurt!

One of their early campaign promises was to count the Thousand Islands to make sure the Americans haven't stolen one.

They were going to drill holes in the ceiling of the Lafontaine Tunnel and turn it into a car wash.

and by other civil service union PIGS in a GROSS CONFLICT OF INTEREST.............................

ALLIED with LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saying harsh but honest things is one issue...........................

BUT TELLING LIES AS LIE-berals and their HOG ALLIES DO......................

is another kettle of very smelly fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an article that should worry us all!! With some comments of my own in brackets):

EDITORIAL: An alarming attack on free speech

From Postmedia News

Published: September 18, 2019, Updated: September 18, 2019 6:50 PM EDT

Filed Under: Toronto SUN/ Opinion/ Editorials

Imagine a federal law that said you could be imprisoned for up to five years and fined up to $50,000 for saying during this election campaign that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has broken the law or is being investigated by the police.

Imagine the same thing if you called Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer a crook and suggested he belongs in prison.

Or if you made a false statement about a politician’s citizenship, place of birth, education, professional qualifications or membership in a group or association.

(Democratic govt has demonstrated that IT CANNOT police the internet!! And in fact - our Cdn LIE-beral Party is one of the BIG offenders when it comes to Fake News!! One has only to look at the attack ads sponsored on main stream media by PRO LIE-beral groups like UNIFOR - and various civil service union HOG groups!)

(LIE-berals have made it VERY CLEAR they have no intention of ending this GROSS HOG conflict of interest - as LIE-berals BENEFIT from it very nicely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(The HOGS howl loudly about Ford Cuts to education - IN SPITE of the fact that Ford is spending nearly TWO BILLION DOLLARS MORE in the 2019 budget than Wynne-bag LIE-berals planned for!! The HOG problem is that Ford is directing funding AWAY from HOG salaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(Thus the HOGS are EXPOSED yet again as being in a GROSS CONFLICT OF INTEREST regarding their relationship with govt!! HOGS SELL their votes to LIE-berals in exchange for GRAVY!! Its such an unhealthy situation that Ontari-owe ended up as the MOST INDEBTED province on the planet - as LIE-berals shovelled HEAPS of borrowed cash onto the HOG gravy train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Imagine how full our prisons would be if such a law was rigorously applied, based on statements people are posting on social media every day during the ongoing federal election.

(It might not be so bad if the prisons ended up full of LIE-berals who so often smear us all with loathsome dishonest labels such as “systemic racist”; ‘white privilege” and “Islamophobe”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(LIE-beral bigotry is so extreme they are seeking ways of punishing us for publicly expressing worries about Muslim Terrorists!! LIE-berals are essentially seeking ways to MUZZLE our free speech so that we will be forbidden to comment on costly and divisive LIE-beral immigration policy - and they want to silence critics of their carbon tax SCAM that only cleans cash from wallets and leaves the dirt in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Except you don’t have to imagine it, because as the Toronto Sun’s Anthony Furey reported exclusively Tuesday, this law is now on the books in Canada.

It was passed last year by the Trudeau government under amendments to the Canada Elections Act concerning the publication of “false statements.”

(Fortunately the new law is probably UN-ENFORCEABLE on any large scale - FOR NOW!! We have not become a Soviet Dictatorship under Our idiot Boy Justin quite yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(LIE-berals DO NOT WANT a full scale discussion of the legal implications FOR US ALL - if this new law DOES get fully implemented!! WE need only consider the case of the Mississauga man ARRESTED and hauled into a Human Rights Kangaroo Court to answer to hate charges for offering money to anybody who could provide video evidence of HATE SPEECH taking place in a Cdn Mosque!!!!!!!!!!)

(YES!! IN LIE-beral Canada it is ILLEGAL to offer money in exchange for VERIFIED EVIDENCE of a hate crime - if the hate crime MAKES LIE-berals look bad!! And LIE-berals have hidden behind their CHEESY Privacy Laws to ensure we don’t know the fate of the Mississauga man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(LIE-berals also consider it HATE if a citizen is critical of LIE-beral immigration policy or if we complain about LIE-berals breaking rules about illegals trespassing into Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(One has to assume the LIE-beral case against the Mississauga man BLEW UP right after LIE-berals removed the charitable status of an Ottawa Mosque for supporting TERRORISTS - meaning the Mosque was providing exactly the sort of Hate speech the Mississauga man was seeking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

The Canadian Constitution Foundation says it’s a clear assault on free speech and is challenging the law as unconstitutional.

It has launched an urgent application for a hearing before the Ontario Superior Court.

(Yes- this is the GREAT DANGER with creeping LIE-bersl authoritarian desires!! WE CAN turn them back - and restore traditional values IF we act swiftly enough and strongly enough and soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

“Those who make statements honestly and in good faith are exposed to the risk of imprisonment,” says the CCF’s application. “It is a blunt and unrefined instrument that treats sarcastic quips and deliberate lies as one and the same — both are subject to a blanket ban.”

We agree. We already have laws against libel, slander and hate speech.

(A classic example occurred when NDPee Bob Rae was premier of Ontari-owe and National Citizens Coalition put up a bill board - on the route Ray used regularly to get to his wife`s family cottage and the sign had a photo Rae followed by the math sign = followed by a photo of a donkeys hind end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(Rae went BERSERK and decided he could Not look at the sign every weekend and he SUED!! But the judge dumped the suit on the grounds of “legitimate political comment of NDPee policies”!! LIE-berals have taken this issue of regulating political expression WAY BEYOND anything NDPee envisioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
This law says in order to register a conviction, the offending statements must be made during an election campaign with the intend to influence its outcome.

But the problem is that it makes no allowances for the use of hyperbole, sarcasm, satire, parody and exaggeration, not just on social media but in any public forum discussing politics today.

(LIE-berals DO NOT ENJOY being the target of comedians!! We have only to think of Connor O`Brien and his recent Trudope joke!! O`Brien applauded Trudope good sense in setting the election a week before Halloween - because as O`Brien noted- given Trudope love of costumes and his troubles with “blackface” - it was a good idea to get the election over with BEFORE Halloween and remove the temptation!! No doubt this joke would be “illegal” in LIE-beral eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

A court date has not yet been set for a hearing, but the federal Attorney General, who has not yet responded to the application, has said the government plans to defend the law.

We urge the Ontario Superior Court to expedite a hearing on this case and strike down what is clearly a draconian, poorly-worded and overly broad attack on free speech.

(I second that motion!! LIE-beral bigotry MUST NOT come to dominate our legal system!! The LIE-beral interpretation of what constitutes Fake News is DANGEROUSLY BIASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(Consider that a news report suggested that Toronto Star Newspaper chain was getting $115 grand per week out of the six hundred million dollar LIE-beral slush fund they have set up TO BUY GOOD PRESS from Cdn news media “That LIE-berals TRUST”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(LIE-berals INSIST that the Star is NOT getting $115 grand per week and say those who made the claim are liars issuing Fake News - and LIE-berals want to PUNISH Fake News purveyors- BUT HERE IS THE BIG PROBLEM!! HOW MUCH IS The Star REALLY GETTING??????????????????)

(LIE-berals tell us it is NONE OF OUR BIZ how much The Star is getting!! Shall we ask if The Star is getting MORE than $115 grand per week?? And considering public reaction to the news that LIE-berals gave Loblaws $12 million dollars to buy new freezers - we can guess LIE-berals want to CAREFULLY HIDE who is getting what from the LIE-beral media SLUSH FUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(The LIE-beral claim that it is Fake News that Star is getting $115 grand per week PALES TO INSIGNIFICANT STATUS behind the twin issues of the mere existence of the SLEAZY LIE-beral media slush fund and behind the question of HOW MUCH The Star is REALLY GETTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(LIE-berals COULD RESOLVE the Star media slush fund issue BY TELLING US what they are really getting -BUT THE TRUTH apparently DOES NOT SERVE LIE- beral interests -they would rather whine about Fake News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(How sad that all LIE-beral policy rotates around shameless self serving BIGOTRY! LIE- berals desire to say what they want about US and reserve the right to SILENCE our responses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

(I have said before that I believe Our idiot Boy is an aspiring Soviet Socialist Dictator and I sincerely expect that if he wins another term as PM - my prediction may just BE PROVEN CORRECT!! At the VERY LEAST - LIE-berals will continue to whittle away at our RIGHTS and our Free Speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

WARMINGTON: Hurricane Hazel blows off Trudeau
Joe Warmington

Liberal PM Justin Trudeau embraces former Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion at a homecoming rally for newly-crowned U.S. Open Champion Bianca Andreescu on Sept. 15, 2019. (Joe Warmington/Toronto Sun/Postmedia Network)
He may have received an endorsement from U.S. President Barack Obama but Justin Trudeau won’t be getting one from iconic Hazel McCallion, The Sun has learned.
“They have been trying to get me to support him but I am not going to do it this time,” the legendary 98-year-old former Mississauga mayor confirmed Saturday.
While she backed Trudeau in 2015, she’s sitting this one out.
“I am concerned about things he and the Liberals have said about (Ontario Premier) Doug Ford,” she said. “And I also feel the same way about stuff said about (Alberta Premier) Jason Kenney. I don’t like the way they targeted the two premiers. I don’t think it is right.”
Her main concern is how they have been portrayed as recklessly cutting services.
“It’s no way to try to win an election,” she said. “It hasn’t been the cleanest election. It’s becoming too much like United States politics. I don’t like it.”
She said Kenney and Ford have adopted her philosophy of finding efficiencies without cutting programs and she’s not going to throw them under the bus when it’s how she steered her ship from 1978 until 2014.
“They are trying to tighten their belts,” she said. “When I was mayor of Mississauga we did that every year. We didn’t run deficits. We looked for efficiencies in every department and you know we found $1 million, sometimes $2 million, every time.”
BONOKOSKI: Who else but Trudeau finds a new low in honouring Persons Day?
LILLEY: Trudeau flirts with coalition while avoiding the word
But her not offering a confirmation for Trudeau goes deeper.
“I am concerned about the debt,” said McCallion.
And endless spending commitments.
“I worried about how are we going to pay for all of the promises being made — and I mean from all the parties,” McCallion said. “I will be publicly supporting none of them.”
She added: “I hear from people in Tim Hortons and everywhere I go” about affordability for regular families and especially seniors, like herself.
She said while “the only one talking about fiscal responsibility and tax breaks is Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer,” it’s not enough to gain her nod of approval.
McCallion is still going to vote and will be commenting on City TV’s vote coverage Monday night.
She will have some words for my election column in the Toronto Sun.
But while she can envision a “Liberal minority,” she will not have her arm twisted to affirm a Trudeau re-election like she did four years ago when she appeared in one of his television campaign ads.
No matter how many times Justin asks.

Shelter staff to accompany homeless to polling stations so they can vote
Kevin Connor

Covenant House resident Sire Doumbouya on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019. Doumbouya will be voting in the upcoming federal election for the first time. (Veronica Henri/Toronto Sun/Postmedia Network)
Covenant House resident Sire Doumbouya says it’s “empowering” to have a voice for the first time in Monday’s federal election.
Homeless people in shelters face barriers when it comes to voting because they don’t have a permanent, recognized residence and without proper identification many are turned away at the polls.
But with the help of Covenant House, Doumbouya, 25, will be able to vote in this federal election using a little known and under-used Elections Canada program.
The Letter of Confirmation of Residence program is a proof of address if signed by the administrator of a shelter or soup kitchen and the voter is accompanied to the polling station by a staff member of a homeless facility regularly used by the homeless person.
The program was available during the last federal election and when a homeless voter shows up at the voting station the ID can be something such as library card instead of the usually required government picture identification.
However, the voter must be accompanied by a staff member from a homeless facility.
“This will be the first time I’m involved and I’m excited,” Doumbouya said. “I’ll be able to make my country better and I can vote for someone who will support my needs.”
Tracie LeBlanc, who is with Covenant House, says this is the first time they will be helping clients to vote and they plan to make as many clients as possible eligible to vote and accompany them to a polling station.
“These young people face discrimination and have to deal with finding a roof over their head and feeding themselves and their voices aren’t heard at the ballot box,” LeBlance said, adding Covenant is encouraging all clients to take advantage of the program.
“We will be offering the letter throughout the (voting) day and are prepared to take as many to the nearest polling station as needed.”
Elections Canada basically only tracks the age and sex of voters, said spokesman Dugald Maulsley.
“We do not have any breakdowns that include the number of homeless people that vote. It’s a very challenging demographic to track,” Maulsley said.
WARMINGTON: Hurricane Hazel blows off Trudeau
Race for vote remains tight as election day nears
Statistics Canada estimates the number of homeless people in Toronto to be 5,000.
Municipally run shelters like Seaton House will also attempt to help the homeless cast a ballot.
“Practices will vary across the system depending on the resources available, but in all cases (the city’s) Shelter, Support and Housing Administration staff, and or staff at program sites, will work with their clients as much as possible to help them exercise their right to vote,” said spokesman Andrea Gonsalves.
Many staff at homeless shelters are “too swamped” with their day-to-day work to help clients vote, said Cathy Crowe, a long-time street nurse and visiting practitioner professor at Ryerson University.
“Some places and agencies do a better job than others,” she said.
Crowe says although there may be some skepticism about the residence voucher program, social workers and others working in the system aren’t going to lie to help someone vote.
“These are people who deserve to have their voice,” she said.

GILL: The tab for reckless healthcare promises will be paid with your taxdollars
Special to Toronto Sun
Published:
October 19, 2019
Updated:
October 19, 2019 3:45 PM EDT
Patients wait in the hallway at the overcrowded Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa in 2016. (Errol McGihon/Postmedia)
BY DR. KULVINDER GILL, SPECIAL TO TORONTO SUN
With just days remaining until Canadians elect our next federal government, an honest discussion about the number one election issue remains absent: Access to essential healthcare amidst our country’s historic healthcare crisis.
A contractor would never promise to build additions to a house on fire, but some of our political leaders are doing exactly that with promises of adding more and more uncosted or grossly undercosted services to our healthcare system already on life support.
Throughout the election campaign, all political leaders have failed to even acknowledge our harsh reality: Canada’s healthcare system consistently ranks last or second last for accessibility to essential healthcare amongst all of the wealthiest nations in the world. The World Health Organization ranks nearly 30 other countries ahead of Canada for having an efficient healthcare system in terms of quality and equity of care.
Canada, however, is a world leader in health care bureaucracy. Restriction of access to essential medical care through heavy rationing and ever-growing wait-lists are not flaws, but built-in bureaucratic features of our system. Ontario, for example, has more healthcare bureaucrats than family doctors. In contrast, amongst the wealthiest nations in the world, Canada has one of the lowest number of hospital beds and doctors per capita.
Despite this, our governments have continued to recklessly cut medical residency training positions.
Rather than address these disparities, politicians have continued to perpetuate the myth of “free” healthcare throughout this election. According to the Canadian Institute for Health Information, Canadian taxpayers spent $253.5 billion in 2018 alone ($6,839 per person) for an increasingly inaccessible healthcare system.
Like Canada, Germany also spends approximately 11% of its GDP on healthcare. However, Germany has nearly double the number of doctors per capita compared to Canada, triple the number of our hospital beds per capita, and yet it only has 6% of our healthcare bureaucrats per capita.
Canada must start looking across the ocean at other countries whose healthcare systems consistently outperform ours with far less bureaucracy.
When the Canada Health Act was adopted in 1984, the original intent was for the federal government to pay for 50% of hospital and medical care costs: the federal government’s share is now only 15%. With a shortfall of nearly $100 billion annually, it is no surprise the Canada Health Act is failing miserably to meet its basic pillars of universality and accessibility.
Access to ever-growing wait-lists is not access to essential medical care, and that too is further limited by a patient’s postal code.
The federal government’s vilification and attack of overworked frontline physicians with detrimental small business tax changes in 2017 further burdened our healthcare system in crisis: doctors were forced to lay-off staff and cut essential patient services to keep community clinics afloat. Clinic closures had swept the country with a wave of physician retirements while other physicians left the country or the profession entirely.
Canada now has more than five million patients without a family doctor and specialist wait-lists have exploded to multi-year waits. Shortage of physicians over the past two years have led to cycling emergency room closures at hospitals across Canada. Clinic closures have also created unprecedented and more costly demands on our hospitals with patient stretchers lining hallways, closets, staff rooms and even bathrooms.
In one of the wealthiest countries in the world, it is unfathomable and inhumane that more than 85% of Canadians do not have access to essential palliative care.
LILLEY: Trudeau recycles old health-care promise
BONOKOSKI: Trudeau Liberals leave hospitals on hook for military health care
An Angus Reid poll recently revealed nearly 80% of Canadians over 55 report having moderate to major issues accessing our healthcare system. Forty to sixty-five percent reported a deterioration in the quality of their healthcare over the past decade with the highest deterioration reported in eastern Canada.
Doctors on the frontlines live this day in and day out, and are burning out from moral injury, unable to connect their patients to desperately needed care. Governments in Canada continue to ignore the alarming physician burnout and suicide epidemic. Physicians have the highest suicide rate of any profession.
Canada’s healthcare crisis continues to escalate rapidly: our senior population is growing by more than 70% over the next 20 years.
Our governments all failed miserably to plan for this and experts have predicted a collapse of our healthcare system: grossly inadequate frontline funding and resources to sustain the soaring costs that come with a growing and aging population requiring more complex care. The sooner bureaucrats and politicians start being honest with Canadians, the sooner Canada can work towards evolving our healthcare system to mitigate the harm.
Attaining power is the ultimate goal of politicians and sadly, some will make reckless and fiscally irresponsible promises of more and more “free” services as a means to that end.
When casting your vote in this federal election, Canadians must remember that such reckless promises are on your taxpayers’ tab and ultimately result in real and harmful consequences for patients suffering on the frontlines of our ailing healthcare system.
— Dr. Kulvinder Gill is a physician practicing in the Greater Toronto Area and the President and Co-Founder of Concerned Ontario Doctors.

BONOKOSKI: Who else but Trudeau finds a new low in honouring Persons Day?
Mark Bonokoski

Liberal leader and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau takes part in a rally as he campaigns for the upcoming election,, in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada on Oct. 18, 2019. (REUTERS/Stephane Mahe)
With only a day left before Canada goes to the polls, the Trudeau Liberals continue to take low-level shots in the strangest of places and therefore where they are least expected to be found.
Friday was Persons Day in Canada, which, despite its historical importance, doesn’t rank high on the celebratory scale because of the years of distance between 1929 and now, and because women have made many deserved advancements since their days of non-personhood.
Persons Day will always merit a press statement, of course, which the national media on the distribution list either give a quick glance or toss.
No one has written reams of copy about it. It’s closer to none.
There’s a federal election on Monday, after all, and the national media is tied up covering the last hours of one of the dirtiest campaigns ever which, if the gods of Olympus are kind, will see Justin Trudeau and his Liberals become the one-term prime minister and government they so richly deserve to be.
So, how did Persons Day get into the mix?
Well, because Justin Trudeau, as leader of the Liberal party, added a little hate-on fear into a usually benign press release marking the suffragette movement’s victory in 1929 to have the BNA Act amended to deem women to actually be people with the right to vote and enter politics.
After giving acknowledgment to the Famous Five women from Trudeau’s forgotten province of Alberta who spearheaded the movement — Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Irene Parlby, Louise McKinney and Henrietta Muir Edwards — he then dove deep into the muck with a now-routine slagging of virtually every political party facing him in Monday’s ballots.
If the national media who read Trudeau’s press statements read as far down as I did on this one, there was no subtle between-the-lines message to be read.
It was an in-your-face smear based entirely on the Liberals’ favourite lie.
KINSELLA: Why Trudeau's popularity is plummeting
LILLEY: Trudeau flirts with coalition while avoiding the word
“Persons Day is a reminder that women have fought for change in the past, and continue to do so today,” Trudeau began.
So far so good, but then he began to ramp it up.
“Advocates are carrying this work forward,” he continued, “and over the last four years, our Liberal government has stood by them.”
He then goes on a virtue-signalling riff about his gender-neutral cabinet, about helping more women start businesses and his assault on gender-based violence, which is talking a lot of credit for having done not a hell of a lot.
A gender-based cabinet is one thing, but having a good cabinet is quite another, so Trudeau really has nothing to brag about here.
But Trudeau was only finding his legs, setting it up with his assertion that, in 2019, “we’ve seen an attack on women’s rights around the world, from the legitimization of gender-based violence to the assault on a woman’s right to choose.”
And this is where a normally non-partisan acknowledgment of an important day in our history, took a decidedly left turn into a moss pit of fear with Trudeau accusing the Andrew Scheer Conservatives under the guise of “some politicians” of having designs on outlawing abortion.
Not that Scheer hasn’t denied this a million times, of course, but what does Trudeau care about the truth?
“Even in Canada,” Trudeau said, “some politicians are intent on rolling back rights and cutting access to important services like health care.”
When you read “health care” in Trudeau’s context, it reads “abortion.”
It just adds a new low to Justin Trudeau’s long list. And he used Persons Day to do it.
It was one slick but ugly feat.

MARIN: 'Austerity' beats mortgaging your children's future
Andre Marin
Published:
October 19, 2019
Updated:

Conservative leader Andrew Scheer (R) and Canadian Prime Minister and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau debate a point during the Federal Leaders Debate at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec on October 7, 2019. (Photo by Sean Kilpatrick / POOL / AFP) / ALTERNATIVE CROP (Photo by SEAN KILPATRICK/POOL/AFP via Getty Images)
Why has austerity become such a bad word in this federal election?
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau makes it sound like a dirty word in attacking Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer’s election plank. If elected, Scheer plans on running a $23 billion deficit next year but will balance the budget with a $667 million surplus in five years.
Austerity has become such a political potato that Scheer denies he’d be running an austerity government.
Scheer recently said: “What we’re saying is we’re going to take $1.5 billion out of the corporate welfare envelope. Right now, there are billions of dollars sent to highly profitable companies or companies that take the taxpayers’ dollars that they receive and actually invest it overseas. We’re going to reduce the foreign aid budget by 25%. We also are going to look at how the government operates in and of itself, not programs and services, but how it spends money within departments.”
In fact, Scheer also plans to increase overall spending 1.8% per year, despite Trudeau’s hysterical and false cries that under the Conservatives the sky would fall because of bogeyman cuts.
There’s no shame in admitting that you wouldn’t continue amassing debt to infinity. But Trudeau’s Liberals have made hay out of what is essentially fiscal responsibility. Austerity is living within your means. It’s how responsible adults and governments ought to act.
But even Vancouver’s Mayor Kennedy Stewart expressed shock at the dreaded austerity plans of the Conservatives.
He said: “So I waited, like everybody else, for the platform, and was shocked. It’s an austerity platform. It’s cut, cut, cut. And that’s not what we need here right now.”
GOLDSTEIN: Elect Trudeau? No more pipelines
WARMINGTON: Hurricane Hazel blows off Trudeau
BONOKOSKI: Who else but Trudeau finds a new low in honouring Persons Day?
I see Scheer’s plan, if elected, to be austerity-light. He actually plans on increasing spending in some areas and reducing it in other areas with the result of balancing the budget in five years.
Wasn’t that the big Trudeau promise in 2011?
In good economic times, it makes sense not to let debt run amok. When a recession hits, the fuller the piggy bank, the better. Government stimulus spending can help lift us from bad times. God save us when the next recession hits, and it’s only a question of time.
We’re in good economic times, but the till is empty. And if the Liberals are re-elected, hold onto your wallet. The Liberal plan is to bring the cumulative debt over the next four years to $92 billion. And if the election results give birth to some Liberal/NDP coalition, you can count on the deficit rising well above $100 billion.
The Liberals 2011 election was based on hope, unity and sunny ways. Trudeau’s modus operandi this round has been the exact opposite. Create fear and division — on all levels. Trudeau is the only one who can protect us from the bad Ontario and Quebec Premiers. And from Scheer. He is our saviour.
Trudeau has admitted to his penchant for dressing up in costumes and for wearing blackface. In his mind, he views himself as some sort of Batman and anyone not on his team is the Joker. Trudeau may even have a cape crusader outfit in his closet between his Indian garb and his Aladdin outfits.
When you cast your vote tomorrow, remember that keeping us in perennial and deep deficits doesn’t make Trudeau a hero. It makes him the guy mortgaging your children’s future.

In 2015, Canadians took a gamble and elected a Justin Trudeau government. Stephen Harper had been in power for nine years and voters were looking for something new.
Trudeau checked the right boxes and promised Canadians a return to “sunny ways.” Four years later, his government doesn’t look so sunny anymore.
While it’s been just one term, the Liberals carry the baggage — including the political corruption — of a government that’s been in office far too long.
Now, Trudeau is asking voters to trust him again. We believe they should answer with a resounding no.
Nothing about Trudeau’s dishonest performance as prime minister deserves to be rewarded.
His 2015 victory hinged on support from progressives. He betrayed them.
He promised three years of “modest” deficits leading to a $1 billion surplus this year. He spent recklessly, racking up huge deficits every year.
Trudeau has behaved as if laws and rules he imposes on others don’t apply to him. He violated federal laws twice — with family vacations to a billionaire’s private island, and his political interference in the SNC-Lavalin case.
He punished others over vague harassment allegations, but dismissed similar allegations against himself as misunderstandings.
He exhorted Canada to do more to fight racism, but “didn’t know it was wrong” when he wore blackface at least three times, even as an adult.

Trudeau proclaimed, “Canada is back” in 2015, then damaged our relationships on the world stage. He made Omar Khadr rich while persecuting Vice Admiral Mark Norman.
Enough is enough.
Thankfully, there is a better alternative.
Andrew Scheer offers the moderation and maturity Trudeau lacks.
Unlike the Liberals, NDP and Greens, the Conservatives don’t want to remake you in their image. Scheer won’t destroy one region to win votes in another, and he won’t call you a racist if you disagree with him.
Scheer understands Canadians can’t afford endless deficits and more taxes, offering instead prudent fiscal management and tax relief. He’s pledged to assist seniors, improve services to veterans, and reverse Liberal policies that hurt small businesses.
He’s the only leader to propose real solutions to issues like gun violence. Others prefer pointless rhetoric and measures that strip freedoms away from law-abiding Canadians instead of holding criminals to account. A Conservative government will punish terrorists, not enrich them.
Scheer has pledged to renew strategic alliances and rebuild Canada’s reputation abroad. He will stop spending on foreign aid that ultimately benefits dictators, not their downtrodden citizens, and pull Canada out of the Asian infrastructure bank controlled by China, a nation hostile to Canadians.
Canada can’t afford to roll the dice again. We need serious leadership that won’t embarrass us at home and abroad.
The right choice is Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party.

LILLEY: CBC still won't sue Liberals, time they admit their bias

So much for CBC being fair and balanced.
The state broadcaster often criticized for being too friendly to Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government is giving the party a pass once again.
It’s the fourth time in a week.
Presented with more examples of the Liberals using CBC material for partisan videos online, CBC’s top spokesman still says they will not launch a lawsuit similar to the one they launched against the Conservatives last week.
“As I said earlier in the week, whenever something is brought to our attention where a candidate is using our content inappropriately, we take steps to have the video taken down. That’s what happened with Melanie Joly and that’s what will happen with Navdeep Bains,” Chuck Thompson said via email.
Liberal cabinet ministers like Bains and Joly were sharing edited CBC clips on the weekend to criticize Andrew Scheer and promote the Liberal Party.

The videos were seen by tens of thousands of people.
Same with a CBC clip of Peter Mansbridge interviewing Andrew Scheer posted by Catherine McKenna.
As I write, the clips by Bains and McKenna are still up.
While CBC considers this an abuse of their material worthy of a lawsuit when Conservatives do the same, with Liberals, all appears to be forgiven.
The Bains, Joly and McKenna videos come just days after Nirmala Naidoo, the Liberal candidate in Calgary Skyview, was forced to take down online videos that promoted herself using CBC material.
Naidoo is a former CBC on-air personality and the clips she used were of herself.
They were posted and circulated online starting at the beginning of the election campaign and only taken down last week when Conservatives complained of a double standard.
Well what a double standard it is.
In a statement from Jennifer McGuire, the head of CBC News explaining why they were suing the Conservatives, McGuire said it was to protect “our journalistic content and brands from unauthorized use in all circumstances.”
“We do this at all times including during past election campaigns when political parties have threatened the independence of our work and journalists,” McGuire said.
“This is especially important during an election campaign.”
Or at least it is if the Conservatives are ones using CBC material.
I’ve been clear, I think CBC’s case in on shaky legal ground.
So do legal experts like University of Ottawa law professor Michael Geist and the folks at Elections Canada who claim that what the parties are doing is legal.
Yet CBC has only launched a lawsuit against one party — the Conservatives.
The Conservatives took down the video clips they were using even before CBC launched their lawsuit but the state broadcaster said that they had to go ahead with it, effectively to teach the Conservatives a lesson.
“CBC/Radio Canada was given no assurance that such misuse would not be repeated,” McGuire said.
Well the Liberals keep abusing this process and CBC does nothing.
Both parties are guilty of the same crime, or what CBC thinks is a crime, but there is no lawsuit against the Liberals.
Meanwhile the Liberals, who did similar things in 2015, once decried Conservatives using clips the last time CBC complained about this.
“Taking a clip from a news organization is theft of intellectual property,” said Liberal MP Adam Vaughan in 2014.
“It’s stealing,” said Liberal MP Judy Sgro.
And Liberal MP Dominic Leblanc said that actions such as this were nothing but a rat race and the Liberals wouldn’t act like the Conservatives.
So much for that.
And so much for the independence of CBC.
The organization has long been accused by Conservatives of being too Liberal friendly, now the actions of their executives are supporting that claim.
Isn’t it time CBC just admitted their bias for the Liberals?
