Nova Scotians and Ontarians and Quebecers will continue to bring in foreign oil, even when the pipeline is running because it costs less to float it across the ocean than to pump it 2500 miles and up over an 8000 foot rise. This is not new. This is not News and this is why the East doesn't use Western oil. It is inefficient to do so.

Don't you mean a 2000 foot drop? What 8000 foot rise? Are you talking about the Rocky Mountains that are to the west of Alberta & Saskatchewan? Are you describing trying to pump this over top of Quebec's entitlement ego? I'm confused. Please expand upon this 8000 foot rise please.

Interesting. Eight responses, only one of which was actually from a conservative, and he can't say what he wants.
I'll go for fiscal responsibility with a social conscience. They are not mutually exclusive, but reality has to enter the equation. Real balanced budgets. Control over immigration and fake refugees. A criminal justice system that puts law abiding taxpayers ahead of criminals. An end to the land claims industry.

Historic truth.
You just hate the East and you're always looking for weaselly ways to affirm your hatred.
Quebec is still miffed because we scuttled papa TrudOWE s NEP where they were to get western oil for free and we would pay the freight. Why hasn't TrudOWE put a tanker ban on the east coast like he did on the west? Are there no pristine shorelines to prot because of all the shit Montreal pumps into the ocean?

Seems kind'a f*cking stupid to make life more expensive for Canadians with a carbon tax and then reject an eastern-flow pipeline because importing oil on emissions- belching tankers is cheaper than supplying ourselves.
Yet another fail for the climate crisis pushers in the Libtard govt.

Kind'a like you do with the West. Hell, your hatred of the West is so out of control you even accused me of being a Westerner and I live in the f*cking GTA!

Without a Carbon Tax shipping companies will have to pay for conversion of ships to NG themselves.

Do you know of any Liberals that own shipping lines or contract to shipping lines?

Martin perhaps and oil moguls such as Irving?

Does Irving plan on refining WCS or keep on importing?

During the debates the main parties were all bragging about their immigration numbers , and all want to reduce Canada’s collective emissions. Unbelievable that the two squares never get compared .

This is an issue of energy security. Nova Scotians are part of this country and - if the boats for any reason stop coming - they will be vulnerable.

CC, you can kiss my arse if you think that is any way to run a country.

Assuming in Canada the definition of a city is a population of 10,000+.....what are the top three cities in Canada by elevation?
Since nobody has taken a stab at this one....It's Airdrie, Calgary, & Edmonton. All in Alberta (In BC, cities tend to be in Valleys and not on mountain tops). Canada, once east of the Rockies, generally slopes east towards the Atlantic. Oil would flow (especially if pumped) like oil revenue from west to east.

It follows Hwy 16 and BC 5. Both have super easy grades to contend with.

What is it you are hoping for out of the election? If Scheer or Bernier win, what measures do you want them to take?

Regardless of who wins, what is necessary is a gvt that is fiscally responsible (meaning, pay down the debt and any new debt not to be spent on social services), drastically cut the size of gvt and reign-in foreign spending until the problems at home are taken care of.

You are responding to an ideologue that doesn't have a clue.

maybe ask him why the USA uses so many miles of pipeline across their nation (for internal supply) when they could simply ship it from, say Texas to Louisiana by tanker for so much less money.

Should be fun to watch the implosion

Okay, Tec. I'll jump in. I want the Conservatives to stop illegal border jumpers and if they have to build some walls - then do it. I want them to leave the level of legal immigration as it is - I'm fine with that. I want them to put more thoroughly vetted bodies on the immigration board and get rid of the ridiculous back-logs.

I want them to finish the pipeline by selling it to the Indigenous group(s) that is/are bidding for ownership
I want them to get rid of every single politically correct bullshit law that the liberal government brought in and they can start with Bill C-41.

I want them to enact a bill that makes a 25 year sentence exactly that - no early parole.

I want all foreign aid to countries that cannot account for funding dispersal to be cut. All those who are able to prove that the money actually went to help the people it was meant to, should most definitely still receive funding.

They should also take a good look at Supply Management as it prohibits many smaller farmers from selling their products. It was one item that Max has right.
They should keep their noses out of provincial matters but should support the idea of open borders between provinces.
They can also tell the UN Human Rights Commission to take a hike.
