Tourists. I now drive to Tofino on a regular basis and it simply astounds me how many stupid people drive that road and survive it. There are signs telling slow drivers they must use pullouts to let others pass. I am going to get more signs made that say "HEY ASSHOLE THIS MEANS YOU" to hang with them.

Good idea, not sure if you are allowed to do that. I've driven that road many times, can be a real nightmare right from Taylor River to the Tofino - Ucluelet Jct.

From Port Alberni to Taylor River was built in the early 70s, replacing the old piece over the switchbacks which could be a real bugger.
Stop at Taylor River next time by and try and spot the steelhead in the pools .

If they don't spot you first.

Chehalis was my spot for trout hunting but landing a wild fish was far and few between.
If you go around the rocks and drift down they don’t see you . Chehalis not bad but crowded now a days . There are better places .

The OK isn't exactly dry as a popcorn fart for most of the year. Winters must suck for her.

Not really, compare 12 -15 inches of rain a year to 30 - 40. Also there's quite a difference in the humidity. It has made a huge difference. 6 or 7 inches in the month of November is common down there.
