Really CC? I had thought you would come up with a more cogent response than a flippant comparison of TV character's hypothetical behavior to that of the Prime Minister of Canada who purports to be the most woke person on the planet.
These latest revelations about the prior behavior of Justin Trudeau surprise me not in the least. Anyone who would use his father's funeral as an opportunity to show off his drama skills would most certainly think wearing black/brown face the most funnest thing to do without a thought to the actual consequence of his actions.
I am more surprised that he didn't sob and squeeze out a few tears............but then Geppetto probably told him that was a bridge too far.
I honestly don't believe that Trudeau was motivated by racism, specifically.
What I see is an entitled, spoiled rich kid, grows up in private schools, teaching in another private school who has been completely insulated from the real-reality of the lives that real Canadians live. Sure, make fun of an ethnicity. It doesn't impact the insulated rich (He'd have been sacked on day one if he were anyone but a party leader running for office). The are two codes of behaviour. One for the rich and priviledged and the other one for the rest of us.
On that note. This is the bio of the Liberal candidate running in our riding:
"... currently works as a Professor of Law at the University of Toronto. She holds the J.R. Kimber Chair in Investor Protection and Corporate Governance at the University of Toronto, is a Senior Fellow and member of the Governing Board of Massey College, and is the Director of Policy and Research at the Capital Markets Research Institute. She has taught law at Western University, Yale Law School and Queen’s University."
She's hyper-high powered lawyer.
This begins her platform paragraph:
"... understands the challenges facing middle class families in Canada "
Ummm .... No.
No you don't. How could someone from a rich and powerful elite possibly know anything about living from pay cheque to pay cheque?
She'll fit right in with the third generation millionaires ... Trudeau, Mourneau who claim to be somehow "of the people, for the people". Trudeau in black face is merely an indication that their brand is utterly and completely a creation of professional marketing and has zero to do with their actual character.
Back to our Liberal candidate. What I see is someone who REALLY LIKES to have power, has worked very hard, striven, clawed her way into powerful positions.
Someone who wants power that badly should be denied it, in my books.
