Their (the USA's) next election is too close to start a war. Not going to happen unless it can begin & end quickly without interfering with the coming election on November 3rd, 2020. Not enough time for American involvement in a war.
I can see the USA arming the living Shiite out of Saudi Arabia (as long as Saudi oil is still traded with USD'$), but not direct involvement until after Nov 2020.
