hahah Don't you mean 51-54 states depending if SK and Man and the far north also come along or does the US just want the place with the most oil.
They already own all the big business so in the hell would they want to pay out more for what they already control.
Don't forget to tell all the new citizens they now have a $25T bill to the same people Canada owed $600B to. Maybe you should stay in the US and get them to join Alberta and let DC handle that debt all on their own.

The richest province that gets proportionally less representation in Ottawa than other less populated provinces, and whose collective wealth is being bled to subsidize ballooning public sectors in provinces that don't have to pay for them.

I am admittedly in favor of separation, so I will admit that bias. But I do fail to see a redeeming factor of being a province as opposed to state.
