The Trudeau government’s approach to addressing climate change — a combination of arrogance, ignorance and wishful thinking — has been on full display in Ottawa in recent days.
On Sunday, on CTV’s Question Period, Environment Minister Catherine McKenna repeatedly dodged basic questions from host Evan Solomon on how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will reach his absurdly unrealistic 2030 greenhouse gas emission reduction target.
(The LIE-beral position is especially absurd and SORDID as Environment Minister Climate Barbie McKenna is on record as having travelled over 23,000 km last year- for govt business- meaning photo ops and selfies- in her personal vehicle! Admittedly the vehicle in question is a Subaru hybrid - but Climate Barbie DID submit bills for over 2600 litres of gas for her joyride jaunts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(In addition Climate Barbie FLEW in gas guzzling airplanes- the absolute DIRTIEST WAY to travel- MORE than any other LIE-beral minister- and that INCLUDES the foreign minister who might be thought to have more business travelling since so many of those he needs to engage with are in foreign countries! But no matter- LIE-beral virtue signalling must go on even as they concoct ever more ridiculous excuses for their behaviour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Instead, McKenna veered off into a partisan rant about, how, because she has “three kids” and we need to “save the planet,” she has “no time” for Canadians, including federal and provincial politicians, who oppose Trudeau’s carbon pricing scheme.
(Well- yes- with three kids to raise and an out of control addiction to Gravy- it is a CERTAINTY that Climate Barbie would have no time to listen to those opposed to her carbon crap and trade scam that only cleans cash from wallets and leaves the dirt in the air!)
McKenna equated that with climate denial, with those who, she said, “pretend that climate change isn’t real.”
(It is of course the “LIE-beral” climate that is in most danger as the public is turning hard against LIE-beral greed and bigoted social engineering designed to make it easier for LIE-berals to BUY VOTES - and cling to power at any price!!!!)
So if you’re not on board with Trudeau’s carbon pricing scheme, according to McKenna, you’re against children and the planet.
(LIE-berals are like the worst of bullies- they like to have human shields and cute kids are the best of all COVERS! And pretending to be a defender of cuddly fuzzy bunnies is a bonus! And to make matters worse- NDPers and mouldy Green Party flakes have shouted “ME TOO” for all this environmental fakery and gravy grabbing!)
Last week, Trudeau in the House of Commons and McKenna in environment committee hearings, failed to answer another basic question posed by Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and Tory MP Robert Sopuck, respectively.
That was: How much will Trudeau’s $50 per tonne national carbon price (in 2022) reduce Canada’s emissions?
(LIE-berals doe not know what effect $50.00 per tonne if carbon emissions will have!! It all depens on inflation rates!! If your cost of living goes up 15 percent and your pay only goes up 4 percent- because that is all your over taxed boss can offer you - then your life will be more limited!!!!!!!!!!!)
(On the other hand if you are a HOG and your pay goes up every year “at the rate of inflation”- then a 15 percent cost of living increase means nothing to you!!!!!!!)

The Trudeau-McKenna response was to attack the Conservatives under Stephen Harper for doing nothing about climate change during their 10 years in office, failing to mention that the prior Liberal governments of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin did nothing for 13 years before that.
The reason Trudeau and McKenna didn’t say how many megatonnes of emissions the PM’s $50 per tonne national carbon price will reduce Canada’s emissions by — a megatonne or Mt represents a million tonnes of emissions — is that they don’t know.
(Ongoing and costly experiments with carbon crap and trade taxes in Europe and more recently in British Columbia suggest there will be LITTLE reduction in emissions! LIE-berals have impoverished a generation of kids who never could afford much of a carbon foot print to begin with- while ENRICHING civil service union Hogs who have used the enhanced flow of gravy to EXPAND their collections of gas guzzling toys and their use of environment killing airplanes!)!
That’s because imposing a national carbon price in the way Trudeau has done it will only tell the federal and compliant provincial governments how much money it will take from Canadians due to these emissions, not how much emissions will be reduced.
(People driving to work in smaller centres with either limited or no public transit will NOT change their habit as there is no alternative! Women who insist on driving home from late shifts at restaurant, bar or office because they do not feel safe on the streets late at night thanks to LIE-beral hug a thug judges will be strongly resistant to giving up driving as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Old folks struggling to live on already inadequate fixed incomes that are ravaged by LIE-beral tax and spend madness will not be able to “retrofit” their homes in the fashion demanded by LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(The ONLY PEOPLE whose carbon foot print can be quickly and easily altered are civil service Hogs! Just cut back on their gravy - which we cannot afford to supply in the quantities they desire anyway - and watch them shut off the riding lawn mowers, the gas powered weed whackers, reduce the miles travelled in random joy rides in boats and planes and atv`s! Watch them shut off those electricity gobbling bubble systems that run 6 months per year to reverse our Cdn winter by ensuring no ice forms around their precious Muskoka cedar docks!)
That can only be determined after the fact by trial and error, using the guideline that the higher the carbon price, the more emissions fall.
(The higher the carbon price- the LOWER will be our standard of living!! Saving energy by using it more efficiently is a wise choice- but simply taxing ordinary people so they cannot afford to dress warmly in winter or eat a healthy diet with lots of fruit and veggies will simply cripple us!!!!!!!)
But even that isn’t reliable if the goods and services to which the carbon price is applied are necessities, such as electricity or home heating fuel, (OR FOOD), which consumers must buy no matter the cost.
(LIE-berals know it is important that we eat a healthy and balanced diet- and yet their carbon crap and trade scam does NOT differentiate between a Hog using fossil fuel for a joy ride on a terrain ripping/animal scaring atv and the fossil fuel used to import the fruit we should all have more of in our diets in winter!!!!!!!!!!)
The government’s own experts have advised McKenna that to reach Trudeau’s emission target would, in their estimate, require a $100 per tonne carbon price by 2020 (not $50 by 2022) and up to $300 per tonne by 2050.
(In other words- if we keep on with the LIE-beral plan- then we are guaranteed to create economy destroying inflation- at a time when we have ever more older folks trapped on fixed incomes! LIE-beral carbon crap and trade is a blueprint for destruction!)
At one point in Solomon’s questioning of McKenna, citing a recent report by the federal environment commissioner and nine provincial auditors general that Canada isn’t on track to meet its 2020 or 2030 targets, McKenna descended into fantasy.
Despite government attempts to improve Toronto’s transit system, vehicles on congested streets and highways — like the Gardiner Expressway continue to pump greenhouse gases into the environment.
(Well- YES! Tornto city council has just signed its THIRD contract for green TTC buses! The previous 2 contracts having failed miserably to achieve ANY of the hoped for economies! The green busses cost at least fifty percent MORE than conventional busses and utterly failed to deliver the promised fuel economies - yet LIE-berals persist in offering cash for these transit Lemons- and IGNORE the real need for RELIABLE NEW Subways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(In addition the mouldy green machines failed to provide mechanical reliability and decent service life! It is a tribute to just how much GRAVY LIE-berals expect to GRAB from their mouldy green energy scams that they would persist with their mouldy green plans so determinedly when the existing record is one of such abject failure!)
“Our emissions were going up when we came into government,” McKenna responded, “and actually the UN report, it showed, 200 megatonnes — that probably doesn’t mean much to people — that’s a significant drop in our emissions.”
But the UN report doesn’t say Canada reduced its emissions by 200 Mt under the Liberals, which is what McKenna implied.
It says Canada must cut its emissions by 219 Mt by 2030 to meet Trudeau’s target- which used to be Harper’s target- of 30% below 2005 levels by then.
(Oh RIGHT!! Climate Barbie merely parrots the number that SHE THINKS we should achieve and PRETENDS we have achieved it!! Among ordinary people and cynical tax payers this is usually referred to as a BARE FACED LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
To do that, Trudeau would have to shut down the equivalent of Canada’s transportation sector (173 Mt annually) and waste disposal sector (48 Mt annually) in less than 13 years.
Since Canada’s emissions dropped by a mere 5 Mt between 2014 and 2015 to 722 Mt, the last year for which statistics are available, this seems highly unlikely.
(And of course we may ask- but LIE-berals will not answer- how much of that reduction of emissions is the result of industrial activity being MOVED to some other jurisdiction? LIE-berals can and will shrug at this but it is worth noting that oil produced in Alberta is under more rigorous environmental regulations than oil produced in Venezuela- which fuels ALL of eastern Canada and a chunk of United States as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(WE COULD have improved environmental performance simply by cancelling the Venezuela oil purchases and building the Energy East pipeline to let eastern Canada use Alberta oil instead! The distance from Alberta to Nova Scotia IS LESS than the distance to Venezuela- and shipping costs carry a carbon foot print!!!!!!!!)
(Nor do LIE-berals want to discuss the fact that China wants to phase out coal use- and would do so sooner rather than later- if only somebody would give them the chance at a reliable supply of gas!
