Down there I think every voter gets to vote for a presidential candidate, where as here we just get to vote a representative in our own riding. The only votes our P.M. gets are those of voters in his own riding. I have no idea which way is best.

Yes here we vote for either the local candidate or the party, there they vote for the congress at the state level and POTUS at the federal level
