The Great Bear Rainforest is at risk from oil tanker traffic.
Tankers transporting crude oil or persistent oil to US and overseas markets frequently navigate the turbulent waters and rocky, narrow channels of the coast.
Diesel and oil spills have already happened.
But a major oil spill would be catastrophic.

HELP US PASS BILL C-48.
Only a small minority want to kill all industry on the coast ANd most of them don't even live on the coast and have never even visited the area they pretend to know what is best for. The vast majority of us, including natives not on US payrolls are in favor of both pipelines and terminals. For too long our economic well being has been prohibited by irresponsible southern based governments and US financed protesters.

“It’s clear to everybody that what this (Trudeau) government is doing is pandering to elitist environmental groups who want to make a park in our backyard. They don’t give a damn about the human cost, the lack of any opportunity up there.”
The Trudeau government is now preparing to pass into law Bill C-48, which would forever ban all tanking of Alberta crude off the northwest B.C. coast, a bill that Helin and Alberta political leaders like Rachel Notley and Jason Kenney agree needs to be trashed.
Helin does not accept the romantic idea that the northwest B.C. coast is some special Indigenous area where industrial activity must never be permitted. “This whole notion we were this noble Indian looking at the environment, it’s a manufactured idea of Western imperialism. By trying to impose all this crap on our people, this is just a further form of colonialism, which I call eco-colonialism.”
Hundreds of First Nations leaders across Western Canada feel the same way. Together with Helin as project chairman they are pushing for the new Eagle Spirit pipeline corridor from the oilsands of Fort McMurray to the coastal waters of the Lax Kw’alaams, with the support of all 35 First Nations along that route. They would be majority owners of the $12-billion, 1,500-km multi-pipeline super highway. Who'd'a thunk it.

White Natty's lie about indians.

who would have guessed?

I just read the OP. Some others have also, some maybe not. Maybe all 'Natty's (?)' aren't white? Maybe 'Natty's' come in many shades? Maybe just buttonholing all with dissenting opinions with labels is a lazy way to debate.

The pipeline, even if built, will never run oil anywhere. It is the last kick at the cat. Oil is dead. The tar sands are dead. Nobody wants that crap any more. Natives will lose their shirts if they think they are going to invest in that dead horse. It is a really bad investment.
Global energy use increased by close to 3% last year . Oil usage also increased during the year . If the global consumption of oil is rising how can you say oil is dead ?

Plastic pellets, anybody aware that is what the NOVA plants produce and they are the plants that have been expanding in the last decade or so. They can also be shipped by pipe, a big pipe

STUPID MHz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody or other has developed a method of encasing oil in what are essentially hockey pucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "pucks' have definite advantages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming the experiments work as planned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having oil encased in those pucks would mean oil can be shipped CLEANLY..........................

by train with no risk of a spill if the rail car comes off the track thanks to the usual CRAPPY corporate maintenance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After such a derailment it would be a simple matter of crews picking up the pucks and putting them in bins to be hauled away!!!!!!!!

If the pucks function as planned it would KILL any need for a new oil pipeline as rail cars could do the shipping job without a lot of fuss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course................if the pucks do function as planned then LIE-berals will then HAVE AN ENTIRE NEW INDUSTRY TO KILL OFF!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals have told us the truth:

That they want to put the price of oil up so HIGH that we cannot afford to use the stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I also know what you are . So there .
Nope. I only represent myself.

Since I am a normal member of society I have no need for back up. I get all I need in my everyday life.
