Scandal sinks Canada's Trudeau in polls
Wednesday, April 10, 2019 - 02:01

Once viewed by many as a political golden boy building on his father's legacy, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's approval rating has slipped in part because of a recent corporate corruption scandal dogging his Liberal party.

Today, I’m here to announce what real change looks like.

I'm here to talk about our comprehensive plan to modernize government. It starts with openness and transparency. We’ll make transparency a fundamental principle of our government. We’ll strengthen the role of MPs, introduce more free votes and reform Question Period to make it more relevant. The Prime Minister should be regularly answering questions from all MPs, not just party leaders. You know, it’s called the House of Commons. Not because what happens there is commonplace. It’s anything but. It’s remarkable. The word “commons” reminds us that it’s a place that belongs to everyone equally. Where each of us has a voice. Where opinions and ideas are expressed and debated because they matter. As part of a national engagement process, we will ensure that electoral reform measures – such as ranked ballots, proportional representation, mandatory voting, and online voting – are fully and fairly studied and considered. And within 18 months of forming government, we will bring forward legislation to enact electoral reform. My friends, let’s continue the work we’ve started.

Here is an article illustrating how badly the LIE-beral legal system and the LIE-beral interpretation of social justice are failing us! With some comments of my own in brackets):

Rural folks at boiling point over scumbag thieves

OKOTOKS — She’s taking aim at the ugliness happening just beyond the city limits.

Delilah Miller is from out by Longview and folks in those parts don’t put up with B.S.

But that’s what they’re being fed these days by those in power while bad guys have a good old time doing what they damn well please.

This day we’re talking rural crime but those words sound like softee toffee political speak, way too soft for this story.

We’re actually talking about thieving doped-up scumbags preying on people who obey the law, work hard, pay their taxes and are then left to fend for themselves when they become victims.

And if those law-abiding individuals defend their home and their property when they know the cops won’t show up for a very long time, if at all, well, you know the story, there’s hell to pay — and not for the bad guy.

“It’s coming to a boiling point. It’s gotten right out of hand. People are getting angry because there’s nothing being done and it’s getting worse,” says Miller, who is the deputy reeve of the Municipal District of Foothills.

“People are getting fearful for their families. It’s not even so much the property. I think a lot of people agree it’s not worth shooting somebody over things, possessions.

“But when you’re being violated in broad daylight and you’ve got family in your home and these people coming in …”

(There have been a number of high profile shootings of burglars and drunken idiots who were usually prowling by night! But as this article notes- scum are getting more brazen- or maybe more desperate as local people LOCK UP their stuff more carefully as a defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Miller talks about a rancher who had pukes with guns at his place and he had no choice but to let them do what they want and take what they want.

(The native thief Colton Boushie was shot while riding in a car with a loaded SAWED OFF .22 calibre rifle! Who would saw off the stock and barrel of a gun unless they planned or expected some sort of trouble????????)

She points to people who have their stuff stolen not once, but time and time again. Some can’t get insurance anymore. Some are being robbed by the very same criminals who ripped them off before.

(And apparently there is an arms race going on- with the thieves making sure they are better armed and out number their victims!! This is mob rule and LIE-berals simply call us Racists for complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

These lawbreakers are getting more bold. Why not? Even if they manage to get arrested, well, we know that story too.

They get a slap on the wrist if they get a slap at all. The so-called justice system is more on the side of the thief than the citizen minding their business.

The deputy reeve says she was told by the local police sergeant how they caught someone who had 60 charges before the perp got any jail time.

Jail time? The lawless get out in short order.

(One has to wonder at the LIE-beral refusal to jail the most violent criminals! I know a Toronto family whose teen age son was at work in a chain store when 3 armed robbers burst in! The leader was out on bail for attempted murder, armed robbery and rape charges! All within a one year period - and there he was leading ANOTHER armed robbery!!!!!!!!!!)

“They keep coming back, laughing. They know there are no real consequences and they become so brazen,” says Miller, adding the victims often spot their stuff on Kijiji.

(Yes- I know people who caught a drugged up 16 year old car thief in 1980- the guy was out on bail for 16 previous car theft charges -and in one case he ran a red light and t-boned another car and nearly killed that driver- who was left with life long injuries! And yet 25 years later - THE SAME THIEF was arrested at a gas station with s stolen car!! Who can say how many cars this drugged up moron has stolen?? And how much welfare money he has cost us?????????????

The lowlifes also know the cops won’t be showing up on the crime scene anytime soon. So what do people do?

“People are not unreasonable out here. We’re not a bunch of rednecks. No one is promoting vigilante justice.

“We know if you pull a gun on somebody they might have a bigger one and then you’re in trouble. They’re on drugs and alcohol. They’re spun right out of their minds.

“Is it worth it to get shot by a dope addict or a crackhead?”

Miller says folks want to defend their family but they don’t want to get thrown in jail for firing off a few warning shots.

“It’s all come to a head. We’re being forgotten. People are so frustrated they just want to see something happen.

“People out here are the salt of the earth. They’re honest, hard working and forthright. But when we need our government to stand up for us, they’re not here.”

She says the Notley NDP and the Trudeau government “have to get off their asses.”

“They don’t have time to listen to our rural people. But they have time to listen to every special interest group.

“People are frightened and in Canada you shouldn’t be frightened in your own home.”

Gentleman Pat Stier, a United Conservative MLA, represents citizens from Priddis to Waterton Lakes in the legislature.

“People find themselves defenceless. We know full well we shouldn’t take the law into our own hands. We also know full well the RCMP are 45 to 90 minutes away. By that time, the world of hurt has already occurred.”

(Sounds like the wild west has been re-created by LIE-beral hug a thug judges doesnt it?????? All that is missing is Billy The Kid and The Regulators!!!!!!!!!!!!)

At the Royal Duke Hotel in Okotoks, Wayne Anderson sums up the sentiments of so many.

“They don’t feel protected. So they have to take care of themselves. But where do you draw the line?” asks a peeved-off Anderson, a United Conservative MLA representing Okotoks up in Edmonton.

(Yes- LIE-berals leave people to find their own solutions and then LIE-berals BITCH later when people do find solutions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

There’s an April 10 meeting in Okotoks for folks to talk about what the hell to do.

The politicians better get their act together — soon.

(Sounds like there will be STRONG PRESSURE for political change in Alberta and in all of Canada as well!!!!!! And the solutions will NOT include LIE-beral policies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I've rethought this somewhat. Loblaw's is willing reduce it's carbon footprint by 23% (as long as they don't have to pay for it) by having you & I pay for replacing its commercial freezers in 300-400 of its stores by going to newer more efficient units using R744 as a refrigerant instead of Freon or Ammonia, etc...as R744 is a naturally available, safe, environmental friendly refrigerant with best thermo-physical and transport properties after ammonia. I wish Gerryh (HVAC Expert) was around to explain this in more detail, but in Layman's terms, so we can all appreciate Loblaw's decision and the Liberal Party's endorsing this with our tax dollars. We as Taxpayers get to pay a punitive tax to change our behaviors, but Liberal Corporate Donors receive our Tax Money to change their behaviors. Good Deal!
R744 is environmentally friendly, having zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and minimal GWP (Global Warming Potential). It also has excellent thermodynamic properties and low energy usage making it suitable for a range of applications such as industrial heat extraction, chilled warehousing, shipping vessels, commercial refrigeration, and mobile air conditioning.
I have been waiting for some bright person to go , “ What the hell is refrigerant R744 anyway ??” Then do a quick Google search and then go, “Ah Hah!! The Punchline!” The irony!!

When you word it like that...I'd vote for Elizabeth May before I'd vote for Trudeau. I'd vote for Jagmeet Singh before I'd vote for Justin Trudeau. I'd like to vote for Michelle Rempel but she's not running, and I'd vote for Joe Lo Truglio even if he'd run 'not' for the Liberal Party.
I'd also vote for Lisa Raitt - if she were in the running, Ron. I really have a lot of respect for her. Not that I don't for Michelle - just personal preference.

Intelligent, sensible, good sense of humor and can run rings around the little potato every time she stands up refute his latest newspeak.

Lisa Raitt? Don't know if I'd want her for PM, but if I ever needed a bite-hard-and-never-let-go defense lawyer ....

Which of the two do you prefer? I'd trust your judgement. :)
Not sure yet . Bernier has good policy ideas , but I am not sure what his supporting cast will look like . A vote for him may be useless in many ridings .
The conservatives have a strong bench and ground game . Scheer may not be the most charismatic leader in the race , But as we see with our present government charisma does not necessarily equate good governance .
I will probably support the conservatives however if my riding has a solid People’s Party candidate I will consider him/her .
