I'm sure you "would have found another way to serve" in the World Wars as well.Fighting wars is just one means of serving the planet and the people on it. There are hundreds of different ways to serve, some care for infirm and elderly, some raise money to improve things in their community, some drive sick and elderly to their appointments, some walk people's dogs, some council disturbed children, so the people who destroy people with guns don't need to get overly proud of themselves. There's an old saying "it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight than to engage in one".

In the Army, they were known as "FOOs" or Forward Observation Officers and it was one of the most dangerous things that Canadian soldiers did.Yeah, I suppose there is always a demand for surveyors in war.
You spelled 'Russian jets' wrong. BTW, an F-18 is not a slouch
Addendum to my lst postOui.
Considering the size of the 'wilderness' just what is being protected.
Spare parts will keep our fleet flying, spare part from the us will not be happening. Ask Cuba how that works.
We have some White Helmets that we could sent to that trouble spot to the south.
Merkel has spokenThe F35 or whatever fighter they decide on will be a massive waste of tax dollars.
Just like the new warships.
We are hopelessly married to a military model that is obsolete and worthless

neutral on the sidelines.
The same thing happened for the same reason in WWI.
Canada was at war with Germany for a full 1/10th of the 20th Century. Our neighbours for only half that time ...
All those mercenaries ...

No too bright, are you Yank?
I was using the term "mercenary" satirically but it seems that you're almost as thick as Eagle Snack.A TVO documentary claims that 36,000 Cdns served in the Yankee civil war!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With 4,000 on the Confederate side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the Yankee sounds smarter than a Cdn LIE-beral SOCIALIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was made by someone who knows nothing of our military history. Thanks for all the comments, guys. So if what you are saying is true(non citizens serving in the military), then how did this thread title come about?
