Still can't answer the NDP plan for the Canadian Military?

If it is a viable platform I may consider the NDP a viable party ;)

Yeah, with the lack of competence running rampant in all parties, I don't think it makes much difference who you vote for. she's all one big money grab and f**k all to show!

What is the mystery?

I am all but saying that the NDP would not expand our military or its commitments.

Why do you constantly need explanations for the obvious?

I believe the NDP would have a much better department of veterans affairs. One that granted far more benefits to the wounded.

So basically in the same boat as the rest of the parties? And still would be under attack to keep our commitments under the UN and NATO.

The mystery is the N.D.P. doesn't follow any one set platform, unless it's giving welfare to layabouts!

Mind you, your monthly assistance cheque would be cut in nearly useless currency.

What's wrong with Monopoly money? My friends accept it as currency all the time whenever we play the game.

The NDP `plan` for our military is very simple!

They see our military as a well disciplined but weird sort of health club!!!!

They think it is odd that all the health nuts should wear the same uniform but NDP shrugs off stuff like that!

NDP likes that the military health club is available on short notice to fill sand bags in flood zones and etc!

NDP does not believe in guns so it will come as no surprise that our military will have NONE under an NDP govt!

NDP believes that all problems can be resolved by sincere conversation; the free exchange of a limited array of politically correct ideas with the socialist good will supplemented with gobs of cash changing hands!

NDP believes that one can BUY a solution to any problem so we will not need jet fighters nor navy ships nor tanks etc.

Ndp expects that the money saved on weapons will be put into affordable housing- though they have not said how much money would eventually be needed to properly house the Isis army that wants to create a World Wide Caliphate with Canada as a charter member!

Nor have NDP budgeted any cash to pay for the Religious Police who will need to be hired once Sharia Law is implemented in Canada!

NDP believes that "white privilege" is unfairly impacting what we teach kids in school so they will NOT be teaching our kids anything about Brit PM Neville Chamberlain and his utterly failed effort to appease Adolf Hitler!

Teaching kids about Chamberlain and Hitler is seen by NDP as depressing and distressing to kids so such fact will be systematically forgotten!

NDP is strongly anti Zionist and anti Israel so our kids will be taught to hate "Jewish Imperialists"!

NDP has such strong socialist leanings that our kids will NOT be taught anything useful about a WIDE ARRAY of sensitive subjects!

Our kids will not be taught about the savage Soviet Gulag Archipelego where political prisoners were sent to be re-educated and to die!

Our kids will not be taught about Cambodian Soviet leader Pol Pot and his Khymer Rouge communist mass murders!

Our kids will not be taught about Chairman Mao and his communist mass murderers!

Nor will our kids be taught about the Hungarian Revolution and the frantic efforts of Hungarians to escape Soviet torturers!

NDP blames Yankees for decades of deprivation in Cuba! Things got so bad under communist Castro that Toronto (RED) Star actually ran articles explaining to Cdn travellers that Cubans had no use for the tips offered at Cuban hotels and restaurants- Red Star told us that it was better to offer up canned food and toilet paper and tooth paste- all things in desperately short supply in Cuba!

NDP does not wish to discuss the ugly reality that Cuba COULD have traded with any and all countries in South America if only the Soviet style Cuban economy produced ANYTHING of value that could be traded!

NDP prefers to blame Yankees for all the troubles of the world- including the Soviet created poverty in Cuba- and you CAN BET NDP WILL TEACH THAT TO OUR KIDS!!!!!!

NDP believes money is as limitless as we once thought the forests and oceans were- so our kids will NOT be taught how or why Soviet Union went bankrupt!

NDP considers that the Trudeau clan are fellow travellers- though the Trudeau version of socialism is NOT of a pure quality- but NDP does value Our idiot Boy Justin sufficiently not to discus or point out his many political warts!

For instance- no NDPer will quote from the Pierre Trudeau book "Two Innocents In Red China" in which PIerre heaped fawning praise on Communist Chairman Mao "for his genius in rushing 30 million Chinese to the gallows" during the Great Leap Forward! And NDP will certainly not mention Our idiot Boy Justin telling us "he likes the way the Chinese leaders get things done"!

NDP believes sincerely in CENSORSHIP so the Masses will be unaware of and not become dis-enchanted by the TOTAL FAILURE of all socialist dogma!

And we can be CERTAIN that NDP will not encourage our kids to read "Animal Farm"!

The LAST thing NDP wants is a bunch of well read kids sitting in classrooms chanting "some pigs are more equal than others: at their grossly privileged, gravy train riding teachers!

Liberals faced closed-door criticism over now-cancelled Super Hornet fighter plan: documents

The Liberal government's now-scuttled plan to buy Super Hornet jet fighters as a stop-gap measure for the air force faced an initial storm of back room criticism from one of Canada's leading defence companies, internal documents reveal.
Executives with CAE Defence and Security Canada, headquartered in Montreal, wrote and met with senior federal officials in the winter of 2017 as Public Services and Procurement Canada was negotiating a sole-source contract to purchase 18 Boeing Super Hornets.
They were upset Canada intended to buy 18 warplanes directly from the U.S. government through a foreign military sales agreement, a mechanism that severely limits direct benefits to Canadian companies.
Specifically the company that builds and operates high-tech simulators was worried about the absence of a federal plan to involve homegrown firms and that the deal was being pushed ahead without the proper safeguards.
"An inappropriately structured foreign military sale will not only cost substantially more than a Canadian purchase, it will also deprive Canadian industry of benefits it would otherwise receive," said a CAE memo, contained as part of briefing package released to CBC News under access to information legislation.

Back room maneuvering

Public works briefing documents written three months after the Liberal government announced its plan show — at the time — federal officials were still "in the process of developing an economic benefits strategy" to involve Canadian industry.
The fighter jet deal with Boeing fell apart a few months later in a dispute between the company and Ottawa over tariffs imposed on Bombardier passenger jets.
The back room maneuvering and angst is significant in light of the ongoing investigation by the auditor general into the Liberal government's handling of the multi-billion-dollar fighter jet file.
Instead of buying brand new Super Hornets, the federal government now intends to purchase used F-18s from Australia to fulfil what it claims is a gap in the air force's ability to carry out its duties.

Auditor General

Critics have long charged that the "capability gap" was a hasty, politically-manufactured excuse intended so the Liberals could avoid buying the F-35 stealth fighter, favoured by the previous Conservative administration.
That is one of the aspects Auditor General Michael Ferguson has chosen to examine in a report set to be tabled in Parliament this fall, The Canadian Press reported last month.
The audit will assess if National Defence is fulfilling its obligation to protect the country and will also examine the impact of extending the lives of the current fleet of 76 CF-18s, which were purchased in the 1980s.
CAE provides support to the CF-18 mission systems through a subcontract and had a lot at stake in the government's decision.
Federal officials used the meeting to soothe ruffled feathers with the company's general manager, according to the documents, obtained by CBC News under access to information legislation.
"Given the minister's responsibility for defence procurement, this meeting should serve as an assurance to CAE that the potential procurement of Super Hornet aircraft will ensure economic benefits to Canada and that it is the objective of the procurement to leverage in-service support capability," said the Feb. 14, 2017 briefing.
CAE is among Boeing's major suppliers on both the military and commercial side. It is also has close ties to Bombardier and found itself in an awkward position during the passenger jet trade dispute which ended in the cancellation of the Super Hornet plan.
