It's astounding how you can ignore geo-political realities just to keep the Trump/Putin narrative rolling along. But then leftards are great at ignoring reality.
It seems to me that we endured 15 years of "Terror" news 24-7. And today there is very little comment.
Now that all the anti-terror legislation has been passed and all the laws in place to control the population as the economy continues to crumble, the Ruling Class have now turned their fears onto Russia and the need to increase defense spending.

I am not defending Russia. Russia is just as evil as America is. America has tortured, renditioned, invaded, operated black sites and Guantanamo Bay and robbed/slaughtered much more than Russia has done in recent history.
The Russia fear is now being used to introduce censorship within the media.
Anti-Terror legislation combined with censorship is exactly what the Ruling Class needs in place as Martial Law is introduced. Imagine Mark Zukerberg and The Clowns being in control of censorship?

Really? In all of history? Your not serious are you? The holocaust pales in comparison to the Holodomor Russia inflicted on Ukraine alone not even mentioning the rest of the satellite states they forced their will on. As a Canadian why is your hate of the US so high? For as much bad they did to us they did just as much good if not more, we would not be the nation we are if it wasn't for our neighbours to the South.

Yep it's on a collision course, hopefully resolved without fisticuffs, by taking them on economically right now may defuse the situation for a generation or 2

The news media are in the business of selling advertising . News is only a small part of their platform . But you know that .
Any national military's mission in simple and fundamental. To protect the sovereignty of the nation. Any treaty obligations we sign on to should have the same intention.
To the extent that secondary deployments for peacekeeping or training or treaty obligations should extent from that. It's probably time Canada reviewed all of its military commitments to see if they are relevant to the current world situation and realistic threats. They'd probably find that NATO, NORAD, and U.S. Northern Command no longer respond to the real world. And that they likely have undermined the development of a comprehensive military structure on a strictly national basis.
Russia is no longer an Empire and probably never had global aspirations. At that it only spends about 4% of its GDP for Defense, comparable to the U.S.. That said 2% of GDP is a realistic and achievable target. And non alignment would not come any cheaper.

Being aggressive in Georgia, Ukraine, aligning with Syria, Iran and Hezbollah doesn't deserve to be in the news?

Agree terrorism has been lame stream media massaged to now mean putin & rt.com because they are a thorn in not only cnns butt but also the clinton foundations'. Media wars are far preferable to shooting wars but imo disasterous hostilities can't be too far down the road n' I think putin is correct in saying after ww3 the next war will be fought with sticks and stones.
