Wouldn't fuel get cheaper if you cut the Carbon tax? Is there any other hidden gems in the fuel tax that can be cut with the program that it is tied into?

All that Ford can do to influence the pump price of gas is to cut any provincial taxes levied on the gas. Carbon tax is one. Ontario, though, is seriously hooked on all of that sin-tax revenue and something else will have to go "up" to cover the shortfall. It's a great "chicken in every pot" slogan, though and there is an old tradition of this sort of nonsense.

Doug Ford is promising cheaper gas. How is he going to do that? Why not just let the market decide? He's just as bad as Wynne and Horwath promising to the ignorant masses what will clearly be outside his powers to promise short of subsidizing it if necessary. Is that what he's promising? whither the fiscal conservative?

He is going to remove the carbon tax/cap&trade&give money to California levy on the gas which amounts to about 10cents per litre.

Regardless of whatever you think, there would still be a federally imposed carbon price.

Drug Fraud would cost the taxpayers with that move because he has no plan.

It likely won't stand up in court.
