I see Vancouver International Airport is expanding to accommodate 50 to 100 % more passengers in the coming years . All that extra jet fuel burned to service these flights , all the extra pipeline and tanker traffic to fuel them . Crickets .

Global warming is a big problem... and this is our plan... it should work... but we're not sure... but we really really want it to work... but there is enough evidence in our plan that says it really won't work...but it might... we just don't know... so don't hold us to it... we mean well... at least we're not Americans... Good day... eh.
Would have been easier to say "we want to convert the world to NG so we can save oil and coal for our future and we want you to pay for it"?

Bait and switch. Upping the GST would kill any Govt's popularity but a Carbon (not CO2 but C) Tax is acceptable.
