Perhaps our public schools need to teach children with mental-health problems where to turn for help when they need it. For example, did this man know where to turn for help if he needed it?

Could be the same situation as many with a physical illness, they know where to go but for some reason like fear, embarrassment, denial, procrastination, just never get around to going. People with physical problems often have legitimate fears while those with mental problems may have unsubstantiated fears, like being locked up in the bug house for the duration!
