Free trade between India and Canada certainly could benefit the Canadian economy as long as it doesn't replace trade with the US. Given geographical distance and so increased transportation costs, we need to think of India as an added bonus, not an alternative.

That's all moot though as I'm sure the Canadian PM will blow it by insisting that India adopt the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the separate school system like he did in China. Sarcasm off.
