John Ivison: Would it be too cynical to say China just ambushed Trudeau on trade talks? | National Post

Canada got a tough Chinese-style lesson in power politics Monday.

Trudeau emerged to give his final statement looking like the boy who expected a bike for Christmas and instead got a pair of plain socks.

Trudeau’s Liberalism is even too communist for the Chinese.

They didn’t even let him take pictures. Selfyboy

Trudeau made a mistake when he supported TTP which was initially set up to cut China out of the trade block. Also, siding with America on sanctions against Russia did not help, because Russia is China's closest ally.

China knows that Trudeau is using Free Trade with China as a bargaining tool against Trump and the Clowns, in as much as saying that if NAFTA goes down, Canada has other options.

In the end, China will negotiate a free trade deal, but will want it made quite clear and easy for China to purchase Canadian assets and infrastructure.
